Am I the only one who feels like it is a slap in the face for them to murder Anne Frank and less than 100 years later profit hard off of her face and her house? I'm in Amsterdam and her house is one of the most popular tourist spots. Her face is huge on a building. My heart breaks for her and I see myself in her and I would be furious. The world learned nothing and use her for tourism. I feel sick. I didn't bring my necklaces because it's still not safe in Europe. But dead jews are safe here, as a tourist attraction.

I was having an amazing time at the pride parade this year. So many floats were playing upbeat music and everyone was smiling, there were more people than ever attending and it was great, until the massive hoarde of hamasniks came by, angry, screaming, shouting all of the typical "intifada revolution" and "no pride in genocide" shit (imagine going to pride and shouting "no pride"... okk...) I don't know if they registered to be in the parade or not, but they were there, regardless, and I felt like I couldn't move. It was such a heart-dropping moment, the way the mood switched immediately and all the joy just left me, I was shaking so bad and my heart wouldn't stop palpitating.

And then during the festival at the end there were so many white people in keffiyehs walking around and a guy with a huge 12 foot tall pole with two massive pali flags that towered over everything else. Half of the booths were selling pali related merch or promised to donate absurd amounts of their proceeds not to accredited charities, but to notoriously hamas backed ones. A local charity that helps support refugees from places like Sudan had a booth and basically no one was paying any attention to it.

G-d I miss when I felt safe at pride and when I didn't have a panic attack in public because of antisemites who would do G-d knows what to any Israelis and "bad Jews" if they knew. It's not even about LGBTQ+ pride anymore. Everything, absolutely everything, is about Palestine. At this point I don't know if this obsession they have will ever go away. I don't know if the queer community will ever feel safe again. I don't understand why they just can't do anything or go anywhere without forcing the matter into it. It's not that I don't care about the Palestinian people, I do. But none of this is doing anything to help them as much as it's sending a clear message of violence and exclusion.

Sometimes I just don't want to leave the house anymore because literally every event around here, my campus, even just downtown, for the past three years straight has been crawling with screeching angry radical protestors, slapping stickers on every bus stop and street pole calling for the murder of Jews and the destruction of Israel. I can't do this anymore.

I have been thinking a lot about Abdul Al-Sayed's "Hurt people hurt people" defense of the car ramming of Michigan's Temple Israel. And I just. It is SO dehumanizing of Jews. In that framework, we legitimately are not seen as hurt people. We are seen as dehumanized and objectified military targets.

Because let's break this down. "Hurt people hurt people." So the car rammer is a hurt person. I get that. Putting ideology and world views aside, the loss of family is always traumatic. I have a horrible, horrendous, piece of shit uncle. It will still hurt, in it's own way, when he dies.

But it's the fact that "hurt people hurt people" is ONLY extended to people who -- legitimately or otherwise -- view themselves as victims of the current Israeli government.

But...what about the victims of Arab aggression and colonization and imperialism? What about the Jews violently ethnically cleansed from surrounding Arab countries to the point where there are tons of "The Last Jew in <Insert Arab Country Here>" articles and thinkpieces. Are those Jews not hurt people? Are those Jews not people?

When it comes to I/P, I hear the refrain "Someone needs to stop punching back first" a lot. And in general, I do agree with that. At a certain point, someone gets the last punch and the other party doesn't get to retaliate.

But over the decades, Israeli leadership has time and time again gone "We will take that last punch. If it means we ultimately get to live, we will take that last punch gladly. Just let us live."

And then the rest of the world goes "No, actually, we'd really like to just keep punching you. Only, you keep that promise to not punch back."

And I just...hurt people hurt people, right Dr. Al-Sayed? Or does that only apply to those you see as people?

I really hate the "Jerusalem is very important to three religions why would Judaism get full control of it" because its only important because thats where the JEWISH TEMPLE was and where the JUDEAN KINGS lived. just because people made religions out of fanficing Judaism means we have to give them equal slices of our own cultural history?
