Geum-ja nodded in agreement. It was only logical to assume that they had crossed paths at some point before ending up at the island with how close they had resided to one another. With how Geum-ja's role in the area had been, she may have even aided with the birth of the Young-mi if that was also where she grew up. What a coincidence that would be, although she'd likely never know that.

"It helps me feel like I can trust you as well~" The older woman smiled gently. There was a sense of familiarity that came with knowing the same sights and things, like a calming sense of understanding. "I'm glad that you feel like you can trust me, since I feel like I can trust you too."

A slight frown thinking of the pregnant woman's presence in the games, "It is such a shame that she is here while in her condition. I can't imagine having participated back when I was carrying my son."

𝟎95's eyes shifted from player 222, to 149. It must be hard for her to be here as well... An older woman, small and frail. Though she certainly made sure to show that she would be able to keep up with everyone else as best as she could. At least she was here on good intentions, helping her son. And Young-mi herself was here due to student loans. Some people were only here because of their selfish behavours that got them into debt... and it certainly showed with what side they chose. 120, though, she was different. Despite her choosing to stay, she had her reasons. As much as Young-mi hated the choice that refrained them from going home, it was simply the luck of the draw. ❝Ah, since we live so close... and we're trusting of eachother, may I call you halmeoni*?❞

Adeline hadn't expected to be made a manager within the games, but due to her experience as a captain within the army, it would make sense to assign her nothing lower. It didn't take her long to navigate the control room, but she left the orderly state of the control room to the other manager while she managed the guards to ensure they were doing their job properly.

However, she hadn't attempted to make enemies within the facility so fast, but she wouldn't have whoever they were selling the organs get suspicious about where they were getting their supply. So, she found it easier to screw over those who were becoming too greedy by any means necessary, even if it meant ending their lives due to their poor choice of attacking her when she was getting ready to start the day.

" Comes with the territory..I'm sure, but their gathering of that many organs at a time from dead players will raise suspicions with whoever they are selling to, and it was becoming increasingly clear they couldn't control their greed. " She retorted calmly.

𝓘t would take some time to clean up the mess that transpired while he had stepped out of the room, but for the most part, the machinery and screens were intact. The pink guard he was speaking with had an unmatched shot, even in close quarters. In-ho could rest a bit easier knowing they didn't have to replace every single thing in the room. They only needed the janitorial staff. He walked over to his podium he pressed a button on the console to summon those individuals. ❝I admire their work ethic... It's a shame that they couldn't stay on track with the more important tasks. Nonetheless, we have staff members who can fill their place properly, as if they never existed.❞

Ji-wan in sleep was a rare sight from the formidable manager by day. Her face was relaxed and almost free of tension, lips parted slightly. Never fully peaceful, instead whatever grunt of her sleep was fending off sometimes flickered in her features. But that carried another consequence: she would blindly reach for In-ho and pull herself closer to him. Needy.

She finally regained awakeness, her skin still flushed from an eventful night. Her dark long hair mussed and swept across the dark sheets; yawning before the strategist slowly returned. ❝Too cruel❞ she agreed, reaching for his face to caress, ❝Not even half a day?❞

𝓐 rare smirk appeared on his face for a moment as he glanced over from Ji-wan to the clock on the nightstand. The dangers of sleeping with the people below him was someone was always bound to be curious. Luckily, the two of them were masters of keeping secrets. Turning his attention back to Ji-wan, he reached to gently brush her hair away from her face and admired her before their masks would obscure their faces for the remainder of the day. ❝I'm afraid not.❞ He simply put it, lowering his hand back down to rest along her hip that formed a silhouette in the bedsheets. ❝I could order breakfast as a consolation—❞ A pause. ❝—And my thanks for the evening.❞

Despite not being able to see the gaze of whoever was behind the mask, she knew his focus was fully on her as he listened to her point of view. She was fully aware of how difficult it was to ignore the fact that the players like them were also human, but she pushed through and swiftly ended the lives of the players that her colleagues planned to harvest organs from to make a little cash on the side. While they were furious with her, she wouldn't allow them to interfere with completing her most important task, which was to ensure that these hopeless people were to be terminated immediately, and all that remained of them physically was sent to be incinerated.

Hearing The Frontman give a brief refresher of the job description, she silently nodded her head to assure him that she was fully aware of the task her rank was assigned. She didn’t need the refresher, but she wouldn’t interrupt him to tell him that, and instead, silently stood there listening as he spoke, mentioning how she was a valuable member of this facility and an expert marksman. However, despite the praise, it didn’t erase the worries about her employment, at least until she heard him, clear as day, assure her that her employment wasn’t at risk. “ Thank you, sir. “ She hoped she wouldn’t be speaking out of turn with her next statement, but she wanted to ensure that the corrupt guards wouldn’t be able to harvest any organs any further. “ With your permission, I’d like to inspect each coffin before they are taken away to be incinerated to ensure that the player is properly executed. “

𝓘t wasn't a horrible idea. Having the coffins inspected thoroughly before getting incinerated once and for all. The fact that they hadn't had to do something like that up until this point surely said something big about what time frame they were in for the era of the games. Things were ramping up. The VIP's wanted more. It was hard thinking of new variations of games, and keeping them entertained behind the scenes. However, the other problem of people harvesting organs, and some people surviving long enough to be harvested, was concerning. They needed no loose ends, everything by the book, and to limit the amount of exposure they could put themselves in. Even with a few side gigs that were under his nose. He wouldn't make that mistake again. ❝I think that would be acceptable.❞ It would be a lot to examine in a short amount of time. But that wasn't his job. And the woman was offering to do the job itself. ❝We can make room downstairs to have an area where you can examine the bodies. Make sure they're dead. Make sure that whoever is in the incinerator is there. No trap doors. We can't take these risks.❞

"Hmm..." While Thanos didn't necessarily appear to be taking it serious, he did ponder what the older man said. After all, it was good for one to listen to their elders. There was a point in his elder's words, but it just didn't seem like an option for the failed rapper. He had put so much into becoming a well-known performer and it completely failed. He didn't feel like he was suited for more practical options and had been at his breaking point before getting that card.

"I get your point, but that don't work for everyone." Thanos glanced Player 001 over, feeling that he could survive in the real world with practical ways though. "This place is givin' people hope that had loss it. Sure, some die, but they'd die out there too." Him included.

"We can't all have lived as long as you~" The purple-haired man caught himself before he called him bro again, although it was tempting.

𝓘n-ho knew that the man was ragebating him, and he knew well enough that these punks existed on the outside too. Having to deal with them in his former occupation, it seemed like you couldn't get away from them no matter how hard you tried. Though it was his own choice to come into the games himself as a player to throw off Player 456. ❝You're a waste of my time.❞ He said chillingly. He was getting distracted from the matters that he was sent in to take care of. ❝In here, and out there. It's no wonder that you can barely sell any albums.❞ It most likely wasn't the first time that there were celebrities in the games, and it certainly wouldn't be the last.

"Crazy?" A slightly amused smirk formed on the man's face. Was it crazy? Probably, especially to anyone that hadn't been to that place. He had thought the idea sounded crazy too when he had been recruited years ago. Now though, it was normal to him. For how harshly he looked down on gamblers, he enjoyed the thrill related to testing the odds quite a bit as well.

Another slap to her face as she lost again. "If you manage to beat me at ddakji, you'll discover something even crazier~" Could that possibly drive her away? Sure, but he felt it was worth it to ideally drive up a sense of curiosity. Plus, the recruiter was relatively certain that she didn't have many other options in her current circumstances.

"This job is safer than my last." Sure, he had been hit back a few times, but it was nothing compared to what he had seen before.

Something in him broke long ago, and any ounce of humanity had dried up. What was crazier than winning ddakji? Her eyes squinted slightly as she tried to think of what could come after this. And she bent down to pick up the paper again, slapping down her tile and making the flip. ❝How many rounds are we going for here?❞
