Animal crossing was a revolution for the time when it first came out. It was a game centered on LIVING. You made friends or ennemies, try to get as much money as possible or even catch bugs or fishes. It was a game where life went on whether you were playing or not.

But ACNH changed that. In ACNH, the main priority feels like it's to decorate your island. Villagers lack personality, they can't move out on their own, you can just add any item anywhere or easily place trees and bushes... You have a total control over the game for the first time.

And sure! ACNL does give you a sense of control through public projects but at least you had to pay for each one, and you had to unlock them first by getting closer to your villagers. And on top of that sense of accomplishment, they added the tortimer island, just to tell you "hey we're here to remind you communication is a big part of living as well"

And ACNH, in one of its last updates, trying to regain the "living simulation" title... Brought vegetables (other than pumpkins). I cannot explain how much I despise them. They bring nothing to the game because they had no reason to be there. This small change modified the way Animal crossing was seen in my opinion. Animal crossing, the game which is known to set the trends for other ""cozy games"" was now following them, adding more to the gardening mechanics even when the flowers were already enough.

But Animal Crossing was never a farming game. As marketed in the GameCube era, a big point of the game was communication, which NH developers seem to have completely misunderstood. I feel like the farming mechanic is the biggest proof of what is wrong with NH so I felt like ranting about it

found an image from the movie Painted Skin on pinterest and Immediately thought of Zuko in his Firelord era, so I drew it bcs why not and damn it fits so much jsjs

I tried to play a with a little bit of a meaning to the piece, attempting to make zuko look fierce and stuff while his reflection has more of an insecure and scared expression. Y'know, typical Zuko shit.
