the mischaracterization of connor storrie
i hope im not the only one who realized that even though connor “dodged a bullet” of ultra-para social fans by clearing his instagram and going “MIA”, that only led to people making comments, assumptions and putting him into a box that doesn’t reflect him properly.
you see, when you don’t give people the room to talk about you as if they know you personally, they come up with anything and everything they can to fit their narrative, even if its the polar opposite of how you really act irl.
i saw this in real time with connor. a lot of the people who claim they care about him on social media apps classified him as a classy proper actor meanwhile, although he is an amazing actor and his talent is undeniable, to say he is “classy” is kinda…. weird?
these comments only started popping up when people wanted to compare him to hudson. i dont want to dwell on that too much. but if you look at connors projects prior HR, connor likes the weird, uncanny, borderline spooky theme of film. and i love that for him. i like when he gets a little weird and off putting. he isnt like everyone else. i think some of his “fans” take him too seriously and thats why they rely so much on putting him into a box.
aside from acting, connor is a huge lover boy and it shows. he has said countless times before that he loves to build community and have a nice circle of people around him. i can relate to that. so for me personally, its hard reading posts from people with no face attached to their profile that for some reason have connor as their pfp instead, claim connor doesnt want to hang out with certain people or that he’s avoiding people. has it ever rained on anyone that if you dont see connor with someone its probably because he already talks to them on the regular via text or because he’s busy working a JOB? he isnt a lifeless nobody.
i love that connor isnt active on social media a lot but at the same time, its sad knowing that he doesnt have much control over what people say about him. maybe he likes it that way, maybe he doesnt.
