Hello!

I absolutely adore your work and it's such a huge inspiration to me. Your ability to weave drama and comedy together is amazing. I really admire your comedic sense and how well you pull it off within the flow of the overall story, especially when it's intertwined with the wider emotional drama and stakes! YWAM and your two Kingdom Hearts books never fail to make me laugh and kick my feet giddily. Also like, props for your first piece of officially published work being a story about hemorrhoids, that's such a power move.

I was wondering if you had any writing tips or advice to share, like how to make a fully realized plot or writing out individual scenes, especially as it relates to comedy!

Writing is still my weakest skill, so I’m often figuring things out as I go sdfdfagk

here's one I learned from screenwriting tips: before diving into your story, craft a logline first.

A logline helps you understand the core of your story without getting lost in the sauce (plus, you can use it later to pitch or promote your work).

A typical logline tells the reader:

The Main Character

The Starting Incident

The Main Problem

The Main Obstacle.

Being clear and short is the best.

An ex-hitman comes out of retirement to track down the gangsters who took everything from him. (John Wick)

A high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with terminal cancer turns to creating meth to secure his family's future. (Breaking Bad)

For my hemorrhoid man story, I kept toying with ideas until I settled on the logline of "A middle-aged man tries to live normally after learning a ghost is haunting his hemorrhoids."

Then I wanted to add some emotional depth to the story (so a Plot B). I mulled over what that could be until I settled on what's currently in the manga.

Since I already had the logline— the barebones of the story— figuring out the rest (the meat) was way easier.

In terms of comedy, the genre plays with a lot of tropes, contradictions, and exaggerations. See if there's a concept in your story that you could push or replace, to make it more ridiculous, ironic, or over-the-top.

In my case, the ghost isn’t haunting a house or an object that a typical ghost would. It’s in that a guy's asshole. That one change makes the whole story instantly absurd.

and don’t hold back! Write down every idea, no matter how stupid it seems. Sometimes the dumbest thought sparks the best idea.

This popped up on one of my doom scroll sessions late one night by a random anime reviewer, didn't think twice about it, but the animation from the show captivated me long enough for the algorithm to deem it worthy to throw at me once more just a few days later.

The second time however, it was not just a recommendation but a full on showcase that spans the full 24 episodes (which I didn't know until I finished the entire thing) and had me SOLD on wanting to watch it.

Gotta say, this is one of the rare times reels on IG has ever proven useful for finding new media and I wish there was more of this (compared to all the brainless junk and conspiracies thrown around for no good reason. QUALITY PPL!) but I digress.

The fact that this has not gotten a S2 yet, nor even any news of it brewing in spite of the manga still being in release is quite upsetting, cuz the first season only takes us in to the plot - it does not conclude it, so it's what we know as only the first out of a classic 3 arc setup.

I'm invested. No need for fancy ratings, but I can say for sure that I need the studio to finish what they committed to when they decided to pick up this title - that or they need to give a REALLY bad excuse for not even wanting to (cuz there would be no good ones to argue against it).

I'd highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good FR (with some adult rated humor to boat).

Would I recommend this for teens? that is a bit of a mix. I'm leaning more towards young adults at 18+ for the realistic themes and heavy topics it encounters, plus the overall way of speech and general sense of humor which is much more mature than most teens would encounter and fully understand in a rational sense (in the case of adults, who can laugh and find this funny cuz it's more of a 'past experience' kinda vibe).

Still, if you wanna give it a watch then don' let my words get in the way - I'm only giving my 2 scents based on my own life experience.

I hope this title gets the S2 it deserves, so I'm rooting for the studio to get back in the game ASAP! ヾ(≧▽≦*)o
