My Proudest Moment of Writing

What are you most proud of with your writing process?

I'm very proud that I have been able to write online. It's always been very daunting to actually post stuff to the internet. I've stayed away from posting with only a photo of a sunset or two on Instagram. Now, I've got dozens of posts on tumblr and it's been a lot of fun! Getting over that fear of posting and actually creating stuff to post on the internet has been really fulfilling and something that I will absolutely continue along with me in the future as I continue on my writing journey.

I understand that feeling of being uncomfortable posting stuff online, but I think that as you start doing it more and more, you starting getting more confident with posting online.

What are you most proud of with your writing process?

I am proud that I was able to do more and do things differently compared to other classes. Being able to think differently when doing the assignments. It was not writing me 3 essays and having to be in a certain tone. These were all creative.

Not being able to make essays does bring out other people potential better because we’re not too focused on writing the perfect essay.

What are you most proud of with your writing process?

During this course, I improved my writing process in a few ways. Incorporating the elements of the web writing rhetorical analysis has helped me thinking about the audience of my writing, the context, design, and style in of all of my writing. These concepts have become great concepts to use during my revision process -- checking to see if my writing uses these concepts, and uses them correctly.

I think that incorporating all that we learn might have also contributed to how you learn how to write as well.

I would how I would analyze content because I felt like in that assignment it was really confusing for me as well as confusing for other people reading the work that I did.

What are you most proud of with your writing process?

I am most proud of the fact that over time, I’ve started to get more confidence in what I am writing down. Even when I started to fumble at times, I know that I could always as for help whenever I’m not getting something right. Before this class, I was pretty hesitant on turning stuff in because I just overthink on everything, but now I just get my writing done and go to the writing center or give it to one of my family members to prof read it for me whenever I feel awkward going to the walk in writing center.

What do you like most about your learning?

What I liked the most about my learning in this class is that I get to do is designing my own PowerPoint templates because I have done that in the past before and I’ve enjoyed it a lot.

For me, I think the image on the twitter simulation, isn’t as professional if this tweet is posted by someone working on a TV show. As far as I know about tv show channels on twitter, I don’t think they don’t add images to their posts to have a sense of professionalism.

Share a section of your Design Project content. What is the work of this sample? How can we help you revise? 

As you can see, these are my anger posts from the fans of the show (which takes inspiration from Outer Banks). I'm going back and forth because I got feedback that I didn't have hashtags and if that was an intentional design choice, which admittedly, it was not. But it poses an interesting question, do these anger posts from the fans need hashtags? Would fans naturally include hashtags in a post like this? If you have any feedback on this, please let me know! ☺️

I think hashtags are required when making a post because it’s not only a way of communicating, but also as a way for other people to see these posts within a certain category.

This is my cancellation post. Does it sound like we are sad that we are canceling the show, Let's all come together at this time of sadness to share some of our favorite moments from the show? or does it sound cheesy in a way that I should rewrite it?

As far as I’m reading, I think it’s too wordy. I think a way to rewrite it would be to just say, “Let’s come together and share some of our favorite moments together.”

So far in my design project, I haven’t come up with a tag because I was too focused on brainstorming my idea for a tv show. So I have three hashtag ideas that I want feedback on which hashtag would work better.

I’m somebody who watches Netflix a lot lately and have been finding obscured shows on there and one of them is a show called The Order. I thought the magic system was interesting and there were parts of the show that I thought was unintentionally funny so it became sort of a binge watch show for me. So when the series got cancelled, I got disappointed because I wanted to see more of this shows shenanigans because it became of a funny bad guilty pleasure.

I know of a show on Netflix that only has one season and was quickly cancelled and it is called, “The Imperfect.” Although I could see why it was cancelled as it didn’t have much viewership. It didn’t excuse the amount of potential it could have and that was the most disappointing part of a show being cancelled. Wasted potential.

Yeah, I always hate when a show ends especially when it has potential. It just feels like a huge screw you to the fans of the show who invest a whole lot of time and energy into it all. What aspects of the show stood out to you regarding having the most potential?

Spoiler Warning

There was a part at the end of the final episode where two of the three main characters thought they cured themselves, but they didn’t and they instead evolved or at least made it worst somehow? I really wanted to see the outcome of that. That part had the most potential because I or other people at least wanted to see what happened.

Perfect podcasts

Explain the appeal of long podcasts (20+ minutes), why do audiences listen? How do the creators make choices to engage the audience?

For me, it takes at least 20+ minutes to truly get ingrained into a podcast. The first podcast I listened to, Serial, had episodes that were about an hour each. That was enough time to set up the episode, tell the story, and hint at the next episode. I found the hour length to be engaging and I couldn't wait to listen to the next episode.

Some podcasts are very interactive with the audience - answering questions or requests. Other podcasts bring on guests that the audience is excited about. Podcasters have to be great at setting and describing the story they are telling, as there are no visuals.

I can name a few podcast that are like that, but it’s more of a person telling about a story that happened and not like episodes.

explain the appeal of long youtube videos (10+ minutes), why do viewers watch? How do the creators make choices to engage the audience?

For me, I like to watch longer videos to relax. It's almost like watching a TV show but with less commitment. Most of the time I will look for 10-15 minute videos to watch while I eat lunch or dinner. It is a nice break from the short-form content of TikTok or Reels, and helps me stop doomscrolling. This is true for a lot of people, which is what makes longer-form content appealing to both creators and their audience.

I am like that with YouTube like watching a TV show. But I think that it’s like that no matter how long the video is. And it’s also important to know that their might be some people that might be more committed to longer videos depending on the genre of video it is.
