I’ve been thinking about non-romantic soulmates recently. Just like, people who are inextricably parts of each other and them kissing is kind of irrelevant compared to the enormity of everything else about them. It’s Merlin and Arthur from bbc Merlin it’s Superman and Batman and (if she’s written like a person) Wonder Woman it’s Holmes and Watson it’s Cathy and Heathcliff it’s Gilgamesh and Enkidu in the OLDEST STORY WE HAVE. It’s this idea that they aren’t full people without each other, that they become characterandcharacter. And sure, they can be in romantic love, that’s a totally valid reading of all of these but I sometimes find it more interesting when they’re not. The codependency, the feeling that their romantic partners are secondary to their weird soul bond, the love and the jealousy and the helplessness to stop any of it. I am just fascinated by it.

I recently just finished Tuyo's (MAIN) book trilogy by Rachel Neumeier, and AURGH I genuinely cant stop THINKING ABOUT THEM (it possibly became one of my top fav books)!! It was so good to the point where the moment I closed Tasmakat, (and stopped sobbing,) I WHIPPED OUT MY PEN AND STARTED DOODLING (since I'm way too stupid to write an essay, start a discussion or do ANY form of analysis (but if youre interested PLEASE SHARE WITH THE CLASS, I NEED TO SAVOUR ANY CRUMBS I FIND)). This was just a fun doodle so I've probably missed/got MANY details incorrect. If you notice any mistakes or want to talk about how you pictured their designs PLEASE do. Id absolutely LOVE to hear your ideas (and I need to stop bugging my sister LOL).
