Minor Character Big Bang is open!

Got a Meg story in mind? How about Lucifer? Michael? Benny? Don’t forget about Henry; whoever it’s about, we want to hear it! The MinorCharacterBB gives you the opportunity to write a big bang story with your focus on ANY underrated minor character of Supernatural!

But, you may ask, can Sam, Dean, and Castiel still be involved in the story? Yes! Could they even be the romantic partner of your minor character? Yes!

Your story can focus on a pairing or a threesome (as long as a minor character is a main focal point of that, naturally) or it can be gen and/or just focus on your character of choosing. AU’s, canon verse, and canon divergent fics are all welcome. Be creative!

So...I've never done a big bang before... :P Any suggestions?

Write. Write a lot. Start with like five ideas, so that if the one you’re working on goes to pot, you can still have something to fall back on.

And don’t be afraid to look for help from friends! A writer’s best friend is a good support system. And as always, go to your mods if you need extra support!

When you and your best friend are going to two different SPN conventions within two weeks of each other - you start thinking up creative photo op ideas.

FYI: the joke is that Tahmoh was supposed to present the card to me - but in the course of two weeks he had spilt coffee on it, scribbled tv show ideas and grocery lists on it, and drew a nice picture of a monkey. ;)

In the aftermath, Castiel and Doctor Winchester try to keep Gadreel on his feet.

As you know, here at the Supernatural Monthly Challenge, a talented fic writer will win art for their fic every month. We already have some fabulous artists on board, and no one’s leaving, but we’re opening up room for more artists!

So, what’s involved in being in your art gang?

From time to time we’ll ask if you’re available to illustrate for one of our winners. If you’re busy at the time, or are not comfortable with making art for a certain ship or subject then that’s totally cool — hence why we’d like to have a bunch of people on board. And we try to deliver art within a month of the winner being announced, so you’ll have time.

Tahmoh Penikett M&G (SeaCon)

So the big thing about M&Gs is to keep the majority of what is said to yourself. I respect that completely - so other than one special little hufflepuff, I’m not going into details.

That being said, I wanted to drop a few interesting nuggets of awesome:

1. I am an opportunist. I jumped at the idea of making sure the only available seat was beside me.

2. Tahmoh Penikett fiddles with his hands constantly. The beauty of sitting so close is seeing the minute details. (He was wearing white leather converse shoes.) The fiddle movements were fucking adorable. He scratched at a tiny spot on his left palm, picked at his nails, and pulled at a small string on his jeans. 

3. As was brought out in his earlier panel, Tahmoh and dark liquor do not go well together. I think the quote was something like “I destroy shit.” He burns/destroys things when drinking whiskey. (J2 likes to get him drunk)

4. I tried really hard to convince him to do a t-shirt campaign.

5. The recent photo ops he did were for an organization called ‘100 Mile’ and as hufflecas so awesomely noticed - he’s wearing an authentic Cowichan sweater in the photos.

6. He has the most amazing metal feather cuff bracelet. Seriously - up close it is the prettiest piece of jewelry I’ve ever seen.

7. Lets talk about Tahmoh’s hair, yeah? The easiest way for me to describe his hair, is some kind of weird mix of gray-blonde. I may have stared for a while trying to figure out the exact science behind how it blended.

8. His shoulder is a fantastic spot for resting your head. /knowfromexperience

9. He is adorable.

10. Everyone should be a Tahmoh Penikett fan.
