How could you be such a fool? To even think you will have a chance.
You told yourself while hugging your pillow.
This was your 3rd breakdown of the day.
You still haven't gotten over what happened a few days ago with ran. You even ignored your sister. S/n didn't even know what was happening to you when you started ignoring her and not even looking at her.
It broke her seeing her little sister not even talk to her for the past few days.
You also started ignoring ran. He called you multiple times when he saw that you weren't in your usual hang out spot. He even comes by your house to try to talk to you but you're already out the backdoor when he steps foot in your room.
You just can't get over it.
You thought that maybe this time would be different and that he would love you.
But look how you are now. Sitting up in your dark room with your covers wrapped around your body. You try to hold in your sob not wanting to wake up your family who are sleeping peacefully.
Or so you thought
You heard the small crack of the door open and you quickly laid down trying to play it off as if you were asleep.
"Y/n I know you're not asleep."
The voice of your sister made you squeeze your eyes shut. You thought that you were being quiet but unfortunately you weren't.
"What do you want."
She could hear the coldness in your voice which made her confused.
"I wanna know what is happening with you. Why did you start ignoring me all of a sudden? Also ran called me multiple times asking for you. He said you barely answer his calls and he is starting to get worried about you."
You didn't say anything which caused s/n to get upset.
"Y/n? Are you even listening? Did something happen? Why are you acting like this-"
"Just leave me alone please!"
You yelled which made her flinch. But when she saw you shaking under the covers she gasped. Big sister mode activated and she quickly walked towards you before sitting down next to you.
"Y/n? What happened? Please tell me you're worrying me."
"It 's nothing! Just go..please."
"I'm not going anywhere! Something must've happened for you to act this way."
And that when you lost it. You broke down in front of her and she quickly wrapped her arms around you. Softly patting your back while trying to calm you down.
"Shhh it's okay..everything is going to be okay…now tell me..what happened?"
You took a deep breath before finally telling her everything. About how you felt, how growing up was, about her being the perfect person, and about you and ran.
And she felt guilty. Like it was her fault why you felt like this. And you saw the look on her face and you quickly said that it wasn't her fault that she was better than you. That it wasn't her fault she was born with beauty and talent.
"Don't say that..you're beautiful y/n and you also have talent! He just to dumb to even see that. Everyone is! Don't listen to what other people say and don't ever think or say that you're not perfect or beautiful. Because you are beautiful, talented and perfect in my mom and dad's eyes. And one day someone will also see that too."
Her words made you sob and you cling on to her while also sputtering out apologies about ignoring her. But she didn't care because she was happy that you were talking to her again.

A week passed since that night and you started feeling a little better. But you still weren't over ran yet.
Your sister made sure to tell you every day that no boy is worth crying and feeling insecure about. She also reminded you that you're perfect and to not pay any mind on what other people say.
You were roaming around the streets because your sister said that you haven't gone outside in a while. She didn't want you being home all day so she force told you to go take a walk around the city.
You weren't paying any attention to where you were going and accidentally bump into someone.
"Oh sorry! My bad I wasn't looking."
"Y/n?"
You quickly looked up and saw that it was rindou.
You aren't really close to rin. Ran introduced you to him when you started hanging out at his house. Only a few greetings here and there but you both never had a full on conversation.
"Oh! Rindou, how are you?"
"Oh I'm fine…you?"
"I'm doing fine too!"
Lies.
You weren't, but you wouldn't tell him that.
You both stood there awkwardly. Not long after, Rindou spoke up.
"My brother has been um worrying about you lately."
You stood there quietly.
"If you don't mind. Did you both get into an argument?"
"Oh..um no actually."
He just stood there looking at you before something clicked in his head.
"Do you..like my brother?"
His words shocked you. You awkwardly chuckle trying to deny it.
"What no! Me and ran are just..friends."
He didn't believe it. He knew you liked ran by the amount of times he saw you being head over heels for his older brother.
"I'm not stupid you know. You do like him so denying it won't do much."
You sighed knowing that he was right.
"Fine I do like him. But.."
"But?" You groaned before rolling your eyes and putting your hands up in the air.
"He likes my sister! Now can we stop talking about him?"
He found it amusing how frustrated you looked when he mentioned Ran.
"Um sorry for snapping at you…"
You said feeling embarrassed for snapping at him. He just hummed while continuing on staring at you.
"Wanna get something to eat? There is a new restaurant that just opened a month ago and I heard the food is good."
You stood there stunned. Was he really inviting you to go eat? You just awkwardly nod before following right behind him.

Rindou was right.
The food was amazing and you felt like you were on cloud nine everytime you took a bite of the food.
"Slow down you'll choke."
He said before handing you your drink. You thank him before taking a sip.
"Um, thank you so much for inviting me out to eat."
"It's nothing."
You just nodded before continuing on eating. While you were looking out the window you didn't notice Rin staring at you.
Rin won't admit it but he has been crushing on you when ran first introduced you too.
You were nice and sweet. And he also couldn't lie but you were one of the most beautiful girls he has ever seen.
It's embarrassing that when he first saw you he felt a little shy.
And rindou haitani never gets shy.
So yeah it's easy to say that you stole this man's heart. But luck was never on his side because you like his brother.
He knew that this would happen. Ran was always the one who had the most attention when it came to women and anything in general.
So he did feel a little heart broken when you admitted to liking his brother but also got happy when you said that ran likes your sister.
He didn't know for how long he has been staring because by the time he snap out of his thoughts you were staring back.
"Rindou you okay?"
"Yeah."
He quickly said before looking away from you. He could feel the heat in the tips of his ear and cheeks.

He dropped you off at your house but not before you thanked him again.
"Thank you so much again rin!"
"I said it's no problem.."
You smiled and turned to walk towards your door. You wave at him one last time before closing the door.
He let out a deep breath that he didn't know he was holding and he again could feel the heat in his cheeks.
Oh you were going to be the death of him.

After that day. You and Rindou started to hang out more and eventually became close.
You invite him over to your house for sleepovers or just to talk.
You told him everything about yourself. And he was surprised when he found out that you are just like him. Having a sibling who always had the most attention and was more favored to others.
You both were there for each other when one of you was upset or going through something bad.
And this caused rin to fall for you even more.
And for you.
Having rin made you forget everything about the other haitani. Of course with the help of rindou you started talking to ran again. Apologizing for ignoring him but you never told him why. But he didn't care because he was happy to finally see you again and talk to you.
You moved on from ran with the help of rindou. Later on you started to slowly develop feelings for the younger haitani.
But
You were scared. Scared that the same thing that happened with ran will happen again.
You didn't want to go through that again. And so you did it again.
You started ignoring rindou.
You ignore his calls and him all together.
You just didn't want to hurt yourself like before. So you thought it would be best to ignore him.
And rindou started to panic when he saw that you were ignoring him.
Did he do something wrong?
Did he upset you?
He was confused why you were ignoring him. So he decided to talk to you about it.

And that is how he found himself in front of your door at 2 in the morning.
He took out the spair key you gave him and went inside.
He tried to stay as quiet as possible not wanting to wake up your parents or sister.
He made his way to your room. He knew you were awake because of the times you would text or send him tiktok videos in the late hours of the night or early in the morning.
He quietly opens the door to be met with your figure under the covers. He could see you shaking under the covers and then heard a few sniffles followed with a small muffled sob.
His heart broke at the sight and he slowly walked to you and try not to scare you.
"S/n get out."
He heard you say.
"It's not s/n it's me rin."
He could see you quickly snap your head in his direction before going under the covers while trying to wipe your tears away.
"What the hell? What are you doing here?"
He scoffed at your words before taking a seat next to you.
"You've been ignoring me for a week. Now what's that about?"
"Just go."
"What? No, I wanna know why you have been ignoring me."
You stayed silent. Too embarrassed to tell him the truth and scared of probably ruining your guys friendship.
"Y/n."
You knew he wouldn't leave anytime soon. Not until you have him an answer.
"Fuck fine I'm fucking in love with you! But I'm scared that you love s/n and not me! There I said it!"
You quickly got off from your bed and decided to run out the room. But you weren't able to when you felt a hand grabbing your wrist.
"You love me?"
You looked away. Preparing yourself for the rejection.
But it never came.
"Oh shit I love you too idiot."
You quickly turn to look at him. And you could see the love in his eyes. The love and adoration he had for you and only you.
"What?"
"You want me to say it again? I love you too, I always have."
You stood there dumbfounded but then you felt rin pull you down onto his lap.
"I love you. So much you don't even know it."
"Y-you do?"
"Yes. Is that the reason why you push me away? You were scared I wouldn't feel the same?"
You just buried your face on his neck. To embarrassed to look him in the eye. He chuckled before pulling your face to look at him.
"Was that the case? Don't worry I'm not like my brother."
He giggled while you rolled your eyes. He then pulled you into a kiss.
You felt like you were in heaven.
And rin felt like he could finally die in peace knowing that the girl he loves also loves him back.
You both pulled away and stared into each other's eyes with a lovesick smile on both your faces.
"Its late we should go sleep."
"We?"
"Yeah me and you, who else?"
You roll your eyes at him which causes him to smile. You get up from his lap before making room for him to join you in bed.
Once you both were finally comfortable he pulled you in a hug and gave you a kiss on the forehead.
"Good night love."
You didn't respond back since you already fell asleep. He chuckles before giving you another kiss and falling asleep.
