Top: In December 1999, PR Translations, led by Philip Reuben, released the first version of their English translation patch for Pokémon Gold Version almost a year before the official English version would be released. Several patches would follow until July 16th, 2000, when development ended due to the impending official release.

Bottom: A particularly memorable bug was introduced in version 1.92 of the translation. Due to some incorrect hex values, Erika's gym battle team included a Level 127 Pinsir. In the 1.99 release of the game, this was not fixed, but changed, as she now had a Level 127 Octillery. Her team was finally corrected after the 2.15 release.
