I do believe that some of the issues fans had with the whole Vault-tec dropping the bombs implications in the tv show are pretty easily solved by acknowledging that Vault-tec is literally a mustache twirling caricature of corporate greed. They literally are not thinking far enough ahead to understand that there is the long term consequences will nullify any benefits or potential profit because they only think more fear -> more money.
And the other issue of fucking the whole, "china or usa who did it?" question is well... yeah that's fair to be kinda mad over. I just don't think it's as big of a deal as people like to make it out to be.
Other bitching about the tv show ruining the lore is kinda silly imo. The reality is the games still exist it's not like they're thanos snapping everything.

Here goes!!! Part 1/?????
Ok so this story starts when I was in freshman year highschool at one of the two high schools they have in Burbank.
I was a ""gifted kid"" so I got put in an accelerated Honors English Class. But also I had ADHD, and in California (not sure about other states) that means you get to have a 504 plan. Which is a piece of paper that has lists of accommodations you have. i think in other states or maybe school districts they have an IEC (i think) plan instead which is (i'm p sure???) the same thing. Mine included stuff like extra time on tests (which I almost never used anyway) and stuff like that.
But most importantly for this story, it also said I was allowed to have fidget toys/stuff so I could concentrate. For the record, I didn't use a fidget spinner (don't even get me started on fidget spinners) I had this little cube with like buttons and gears and stuff, but they were quiet/silenced ones so I wouldn't distract other people.
ANYWAY
This Honors English class was taught by this nasty old curmudgeon Mr. Bullington. Among other things, he absolutely refused to use the online grade tool (i forgor what it called) he only ever updated the grades for mid semester and end of semester. So, how are you supposed to know what you're grade is? Well, you had to arrange a meeting with him, and it had to be during lunch. And even then he wouldn't tell you your grade, you had to tell him what you thought your grade was and argue your case as to why, and THEN he'd tell you your grade. Basically a bizarre humiliation ritual. The reason he didn't use the online grader? "It's not in my contract." 🙄 like yeah man, of course it's not in your contract from when you joined the school in 1973 or whenever the fuck. Get over yourself. I basically told my mom "i'm not doing it, so like, fuck it, we ball on whatever my grade is." And she was like alright, because she's chill like that.
Anyway, the first day we're doing silent reading, i start messing with my fidget spinner. When he's walking around he sees me with it, and tells me to stop. I try to explain, and he stops me before I get a word in, and tells me he doesn't care, and to stop. I ignore him.
He pulls me over to his desk and I try again to tell him, "Hey, this is part of my 504 plan, you can't do this." He absolutely refuses to listen, and confiscates it. The minute class ends, I march my ass down to the office and get ahold of the counselor. Like "Hey, you need to tear this guy a new one!!!" So yeah, he got chewed out. And I thought that was that. Boy was I wrong.

Guys. I think I've got it. All active internet fandoms are cesspools. I'm never engaging with anything ever again that is being actively worked on or is fresh in twitter. Because neither fans nor creators can be normal people and I'd rather just never consume media again than even know about it.
I do acknowledge how edgy HABIT can be sometimes but in my opinion his edginess makes him feel... authentic?? If that makes sense???? 😭 Like without his edginess he wouldn't have that old creepypasta evil villain vibe. It wouldn't be fun if it wasn't a little "cringe" 🥹 especially since it's paired with Evan's wonderful acting, HABIT's character becomes very enjoyable to me
