I’m rewatching s3e8 and can we talk about how through the quest Arthur had that enchanted bracelet but when Merlin took it from him he was unconscious, so from Arthur’s perspective he was exhausted the whole quest but the minute Merlin showed up he suddenly felt full of energy and life

Like what was he thinking after that did he associate his sudden energy with the presence of Merlin or did he just force himself not to think about it

An AU where Arthur finds out about Merlin’s magic. After some time they are basically back to normal but then they have to fight against an organized group of bandits and when they talk about strategy Mordred just shrugs and says: Just let Merlin deal with them

And Arthur chuckles and responds: Merlin? Alone?

Mordred: They couldn't match his power

Arthur: Just how powerful are you Merlin?

Merlin winces he tried to avoid this particular conversation

Mordred excitedly: He's the most powerful sorcerer to ever walk the earth

All the knights turn to Merlin, Arthur seems suspicious though: You could beat me in a fight?

Merlin laughs: Definitely

And they decide to meet up on the training ground. Merlin smiles confidently but only until he casts a spell to make Arthur fall.

Turns out his magic doesn't want to harm or hurt Arthur in any way and the king only believes Mordreds claim once Gwaine tries to fight Merlin as well
