the alarm system in my apartment building has been beeping (not going off full alarm, but loudly beeping) since we had a power surge on saturday morning. i emailed the landlord today when i got home from work, letting him know about it and asking him to shut it off. he emailed an hour later saying "thank you for letting us know." it's almost 1am on tuesday, and guess what's still beeping? anyway how would various cast members handle this situation? it's been almost 36 hours. what would they do?

I had this happen in an apartment once, but it was only overnight. 36 hours and I’d be choking a bitch.

And so would moooost of the cast. Sette would scale the walls and ceiling and stab the noisy pymaric in its face until it died. Duane would hook up an echo-box, which is like a pymaric walkie-talkie, and pipe the alarm into your landlord’s bedroom. The echo-box would unpleasantly shock your landlord directly in the pelvic region whenever he tried to move it.

Quigley would strip him naked and leave him hanging from a tree near enough an elementary school to get him onto a Watch List.

Matty would dictate a sternly worded letter but lose the nerve to send it.

Jivi would move out but subscribe your landlord’s email address too aaaaaall the internet scams.

This song - a piece of which would later inspire Another Medium from UNDERTALE - was based off of Doctor by George Buzinkai, who just passed away. Doctor was my favorite song from Homestuck and my remix of it was a turning point for me as a musician. Rest in peace.

this is the most deku song i’ve ever heard

the thing i really appreciate about serial experiments lain is that it really embraced the budget constraints of 90s anime and made long wordless & motionless environment shots into the aesthetic. it creates a feeling of isolation and building dread. i think that’s why it still holds up. evangelion also really built on that isolation/dread feeling. giving the action a moment to breathe really increases the stakes.

mushishi has the same vibe but without the horror/dread overtones. it’s also not budget constraints, there’s always movement, but there are still those long, quiet, establishing shots. i love it, it’s so beautiful.
