okok I feel like Medkit would be severely distrustful towards Hyperlaser, and for good reason. I mean, he works for the very company that put his life down the path it currently is; one he isn't satisfied with but knows is necessary. A means for survival, even. A life where he doesn't want to get close to anyone, one where he can't in fear of getting others hurt or himself hurt(or possibly worse.)
And then there's sword but he's sword it's hard to hate him. Sighs.... the brothers ever.... but I digress.
But Hyper understands this sentiment. Maybe even relates. His line of work is violent and possibly very strict, he can't have relations get in the way or else something could happen. He doesn't like Blackrock either, he wants to leave but ultimately is stuck in a place he doesn't like.
Another thing is that Medkit loves to teach. I mean, it was stated in his birthday QnA that if he wasn't in the situation he was currently in, he would've wanted to be a teacher. Hyper on the other hand, loves to learn. Through his dialogue with the other Phighters, he's seen asking them about their gears or just things about themselves. He's a curious guy, and he would enjoy listening to Medkit talk about what he does.
They both present themselves as stern individuals, yet clearly have some sort of concern for othersāeven if they would rather be found dead than admit such a vulnerability. Hyper lectures his teammates to rather take it slow, to lock tf in and avoid being reckless. Meanwhile, Medkit moreso warns(?) others(telling rocket not to blow himself up, asking shuro if he's ever worried about his grapple breaking, pointing out Slingshot's unhealthy habit of running around sm he got used to the pain, etc)
I feel if somehow, some way, they actually were able to talk, the two could become very close. There's parallels between their characters, they could understand each other's perspective since they're somewhat similar. Both are severely traumatized agenders who block nearly everyone out except for their respective red melee wielding friends/brother/drinking buddy/whatever.
Another thing is that Medkit was stated to hate touch. While it wasn't explicitly stated, Soda had corrected someone's Medkit analysis and never denied it. It's not outright proof, but it would make sense due to his PTSD/Trauma(not saying ppl with PTSD can't touch others/receive touch, btw), as well as just generally lining up with his personality. He's not a physical person, and it's not surprising considering his avoidance of emotional connections and his standoffish nature.
Meanwhile, Hyperlaser, physically cannot touch other people due to his body being covered in burn(?) scars. Iirc Soda stated that if he were to be hugged, it would hurt him or at least be uncomfortable due to said injuries.
This would make the both of them comfortable since neither relies on some sort of physical affection for relationships and doesn't push any boundaries. They probably show their affection in some other way, like gentle headbutting(similar to how cats do it), maybe it's simply just words of affirmation or quality time, or maybe it's some secret third option.
I yearn for non conventional relationships... aka ones that have other/abnormal means of showing affection because I think Its interesting
Also completely unrelated but I find it rlly funny both have a problem with Boombox and him playing music during the round
Boombox > "Nice aim, Medkit!"
Medkit > "Please be quiet."
Hyperlaser > "Your music isn't very helpful in battle."
Boombox > "It'll help you out when you gotta reposition!"
Hyperlaser > "I see, maybe you aren't as useless as I thought."
Like come ON what did poor Boombox do besides be whimsical and joyous ššš /silly
Anyways I'm writing this at 3am so I apologize if it's written/formatted strange, I tried to fact check the best to my abilities in case anything was retconned/changes.
plot twist the secret third option is hating on boombox /j
