il modo in cui si sta sminuendo l'episodio di razzismo di ieri comunque è semplicemente vergognoso. assurdo il continuare a definire tutto come una cosa da campo, manco fosse stato un dispettuccio di quelli dettati dall'adrenalina del momento, come è assurdo giustificare l'uso di slur razzisti perché usciti da una ""brava persona, una che si spende tanto"" (come se spendersi tanto in campo per la propria squadra rendesse i giocatori persone decenti). e ancora più assurdo è vedere quanti si permettono di giudicare e sentenziare sulla reazione della vittima, che se "fossero volate veramente certe parole", juan jesus, cito testualmente, si sarebbe dovuto arrabbiare tantissimo e fermare il gioco come fece maignan. chissà se si smetterà mai di misurare la gravità di un fatto sulla base di come una vittima reagisce e se certe persone capiranno mai che ognuno reagisce a modo proprio, che il processo non andrebbe fatto mai alla vittima ma solo a chi usa quelle parole. e invece si sta ancora qui a mettere in dubbio che l'episodio sia accaduto realmente mentre si cerca di non parlarne e si ripulisce la faccia di un razzista che, ancora una volta, resterà impunito.

Right now Israel's bombing Rafah, the last refuge for a million Palestinians, where they were previously ORDERED to evacuate to and are now trapped in while the US news cycle is dominated by Big Football Game And Celebrities In Attendance (at which Israel also aired a million dollar propaganda video). I wish I could say this is unbelievable.

Good morning. This might be my last message from the city of Rafah. The occupation [Israel] is carrying out crazy fire. Violent belts. As you’re hearing, there are helicopters. Planes and gunfire from the vehicles. There’s a complete invasion of the city.

We don’t know what is going on in Rafah. The place that the occupation [Israel] claimed to be safe. This is happening all of a sudden; the people didn’t go out. They didn’t do anything. More than thirty targets were hit in just minutes. People were asleep. We woke up to the bombing, to the shooting from the helicopters. It was horrifying. Unacceptable. This might be my last message. Please relay it to the world.

Rafah was Palestinians’ very last safe zone. There is quite literally nowhere else left to go. And now it’s being bombed with airstrike after airstrike.

There's a super famous singing festival in italy that airs for a week every year. This year, one of the singers, Ghali, did some very remarkable things on that stage. Ghali was born in Italy from Tunisian parents, his career has been going on for a while, but this was his first time on that stage.

He made a song where he references Palestine where he sings: "how can you say everything is fine down here, where in order to trace borders with imaginary lines you bomb an hospital, for a piece of land or for a piece of bread there is no peace" . He also did a medley, singing also in arabic for the first time in the history of the festival.

Last night, during the final, he ended his performance asking to "stop the genocide!" I don't have to tell you that there's absolutely nothing pro-Palestine on italian media... and he used the biggest stage he could use to say that.

Today on a tv programme he was accused by the Isra*li ambassador of spreading hate and violence, to which he replied with those words in the following video (credits to the person who translated it here):

The italian TV broadcaster quickly posted a press release to distance themselves from this speech and to reiterate their whole support to Isr*el lol Towards the end of this tv programme, a few hours after Ghali said what you can hear in this video, they read the press release out loud. This is how Isra*li propaganda works everywhere, thanks to the complicity of our governments.

Just want to post about him because he really risked it all and I appreciate him incredibly for everything he did...if only everyone could do the same. And fuck italy and its fascist government.
