it was a stormy night, the wind was rushing through the dark alleys. no one was seen around, when heegun crawled along two suspicious men dressed in black, his team behind his back. he was watching some kind of trade, and when he was about to move in and take them into custody, he turned back to give his team a signal just to see a dark shadow creeping up behind one of his colleagues. his body moved on its own when he run back to help. during the fight with the attacker, he saw something metallic flickering in the night as the other had pulled out a gun. without hesitation he shot, barely grazing the captainâs side.Â
he stumbled back, faintly hearing the yells of his teammates. from afar the cry of a police siren, one of his teammembers seemed to have called for backup. while he was holding his side, he saw the attacker fleeing, the teammates let him go, turning their attention to their captain instead. huffing, he was lead back to the car, driven to the closest hospital.Â
as they arrived, he was brought to the er, laying down on a daybed. captain kang closed his eyes, waiting for treatment.
Hyojung was beyond tired â she was on call, not only for trauma but also working the emergency room since the staff was short handed. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she ran her hands over her face, she was finally sitting down in her office just taking a break while everything was calm and not so crazy.
That was until they got the call in that a gunshot victim was en route and she knew she needed to get up and sort herself out before he arrived. She moved quickly from her office and down the hallway until she was met up with her team, she stared them over making sure her trusted coworkers were there with her âwe need the OR prepped and ready for surgery.. theyâll be here soon with our guy so letâs go peopleâ â she did a few quick motions and pushed them off to go prepare as she waited closely by the entrance to get a quick glimpse of the man coming in with the wound.
There he was â rolled in on a bed, blood piddling on his side. Hyojung stepped forward, her eyes trailing over his face and then down to his side âMr. Kang? Iâm Hyojung.... youâre at the hospital and I promise Iâll get you back to normalâ â she smiled small, and nodded towards the nurses to take him to her operating room to begin extracting any bullet shreds that might there. But, from the quick observation she made just moments ago, it looked like a clean shot, or so she had hoped.
Quickly, she cleaned up and was making her way into the room to find her patient cleaned and prepped just as she was. He still seemed to be aware, which was fine for now, but he needed out for this procedure. She didnât want him in anymore pain than he already was â Hyo stepped closer and smiled at the man âdonât worry, okay? I promise Iâm going to take care of youâ and like that, her anesthesiologist has him under and she began working her magic to fix him up.
