Hello! :D This is the FAQ, and it’ll probably be edited in the future as more common questions are asked/things are revealed!

What is this AU about?
Mirror Diamond, at the very basics, is a swap between Lapis and Steven, but with (quite) a few twists! Like steven being in the Mirror since he was 14 (He was born before Canon, and so was Greg since he is his father!) and Lapis was rejuvenated for an unhealthy amount of time- being stuck in a rejuvenator since the war and was only found around the time Canon! Steven was born. Hence her shorter size and her struggles with controlling water other than her wings.
How did Steven get in the mirror?
None of the gems knew about Rose being pink, not even Pearl! So when it was revealed through an accident (Steven reveals during one of his first asks, here, that he ‘was really angry, and glowed bright pink’) that leaves the Crystal Gems into shock basically. Bismuth reacts on instinct at seeing the diamond eyes that she attacks with one of her hammer-arms, causing sufficient enough force to poof him - and kill his human body. Originally, the Mirror was for interrogation purposes, suggested by Pearl who was still in shock. Once they found out they wouldn’t get answers from the mirror, they realized what they had done, but by then they thought it had been too late- thinking that Steven’s gem was now non-sentient, like they believed Canon! Lapis to be when she was in the mirror.

Well, there are already plans for new fusions (like a Lapis and Steven fusion! :D It’s actually going to be the first new one!), A new gem will be introduced, ANd Jasper is bigger than canon! (many slight changes, plus major changes.)
Interactions with Homeworld will definitely change though, especially once they learn of his true heritage too!
Who is creating this?
Just me! You can call me Beep or Egg (egg comes from the discord server!) and I’m the only one creating the art/story for this AU! Though you guys do play a role in it too, changing some things with your asks! Some things will be minor, like what donut they choose at the Big Donut, to as big as what will happen during the ‘Malachite Arc’ or if Steven will ever begin to trust the Crystal Gems again!
