There’s a knock on the door.

Binx peers through the window- a young man, hidden beneath the dark hood of their cloak. It’s beautifully made, heavy fabric embroidered at the edges: not frayed or muddied at all, save for a few spots that probably came from their trek through the woods to her cottage. Same with their boots: solid, beautifully polished leather, without a scuff or scratch on them from work or wear. Their hands are twisted together, just barely visible in the dim morning light, peeking out from beneath the split of their cloak. Their face is entirely hidden by shadow, and maybe Binx should be suspicious of a young man of means clearly wandering down from the castle at such an early hour to her doorstop, but she’s long since learned to trust her gut.

So Binx opens the door.
