Works are due Monday the 22nd at 11:59 PM CST! We are getting close! Remember you are still allowed to do some editing after the due date, but your work must be posted under the “fulfill” button on your assignment tab.

Hi everyone! We can’t wait to see all the delights you’ve been working hard to create over the last several weeks. And we’ll see them soon because… ASSIGNMENTS ARE DUE IN A WEEK!!!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!

BUT. If you already know there’s NO WAY you can finish on time, please default TODAY on AO3. You can do that by logging in to your AO3 account, navigating to your M&M signup, and hitting “default.” There is no judgment if you need to do this! You don’t need to let us know why; we know this is a busy time of year for many people and we also know that sometimes you just get blocked and no creating happens. But please do default today if you know you can’t finish! We love you!

*okay, so, technically you can drop out later, but today’s the last day to do it and give a pinch hitter a whole week to make a gift for someone before the creating period ends

Calling all pinch hitters

A pinch hitter is a brave soul who agrees to take on an extra assignment if a fellow shipper has to bow out of the challenge. You can sign up to pinch hit even if you didn’t sign up for the challenge, and you can pinch hit as an artist or as a writer.

If/when someone needs to drop out of the exchange, we will send out an email to all of our pinch hitters with the prompt the giftee has requested. A pinch hitter can decide whether or not they’d like to take that assignment on. So there is no obligation besides being open to receiving an email.

If you’d like to be a pinch hitter please send a message with your email address and your AO3 username. You can also email us at [email protected] with your info!

Reminder to all Mischiefmakers that we have a few days until our last day to drop out, December 15th (Although you can drop out later, the earlier you let us know, the more time a pinch hitter will have to create). We understand that sometimes things don’t work out and assignments can’t be filled.

We are about 3 weeks away from our due date and solidly into the ~creating period~ right now, so we thought we’d take a chance to say:

We are three weeks into the creating period and have just a little over 4 weeks left. Remember works are due on December 22nd, although you can continue to edit and tweak things up until the 24th.
