A story where Kouga helps a human child that has been attacked by a different wolf youkai clan, and he shows him/her that it no longer is the case since he is the big boss
Send me a story idea and I’ll write of it to the best of my ability!
Although Koga wasn’t permitted the ability to attack or eat humans anymore.. he had never really forgotten the thick scent of iron that emitted from a wounded body, and the sound of a racing heart.. one filled with an even mixture of adrenaline and absolute terror. The wolf would swallow hard as his mouth instinctively began to water at the thought of it. This scent was almost blanketing the air which would mean.. the source of it wasn’t far off. His anxious eyes darted about and he drew in a rather shaky, knowing full well that every bit of him wanted to go see what it was.. to see if it was still alive– to taste that tender meat. But, he wouldn’t… no. He promised Kagome not to hurt anymore humans.
He said he wouldn’t hurt them. And hurt them he wouldn’t. But, he never made mention of that he wouldn’t…. his fist tensed a bit… Not that he wouldn’t investigate things which encouraged instant hung– worry. Worry. He shook his head aggressively, this was followed quickly by the folding of his arms. Yeah, that’s what he meant. He was completely capable of being around those things without letting them effect him, and without letting them break him. He was a leader for fucks sake. Furthermore, what if they needed help? Oh how proud his Kagome would be to know that not only did he control his instincts.. conquered them, even! But, he saved the life of a poor… fragile… human. 💕
It wasn’t hard for this chocolate haired wolf to convince himself of most anything if he just spent a moment thinking about it. That was both a character fault and a charming trait. But, in the end… tomato tamato, right? He had convinced himself to chase after the smell like a bloodhound. Hah, get it? Blood hound? He tripped over his feet a bit. To be honest he was overthinking it that, as it were, he was finally going to be able to immerse himself in that feeling again. The feeling of being.. a proud wolf demon. Something that albeit wasn’t uncommon but more often than he would like to admit he felt as though he had been neglecting a certain part of himself. Almost embarrassingly so as he couldn’t even focus entirely on what was in front of him.
Before long he would stumbled upon the small and seemingly lifeless body of a petite female, the sight causing him to come to a complete halt. It almost blind sided him, really. Well, he wouldn’t be saving any lives apparently. There goes his hero card.
And as much as he would have just left after realizing that she was dead, he had much bigger concerns now that he was within sight range. The curious wolf wandered a bit closer like a mouse toward cheese in a trap and once he got within range to touch? He would kneel down, lightly flipping her body to see what could be… this is when he caught an unwelcome scent and felt a pit grow in his stomach. It was as if this girl had been bathed in wolves pelts. How had he not picked up on this before? He looked over her a bit before those azure orbs sharpened into a glare. In her small hand was a bit of dark brown fur. No. This couldn’t have been the doing of his pack.. Nope, no chance. They were also not permitted such delicacies. He bit the inside of his cheek so hard he almost drew blood, and his jaw quivered further displaying his frustration.
He lightly punched the ground next to her, careful not to catch her in his fit. What if someone else had stumbled upon this, worse yet… what if Kagome had? He peeked toward her again, lip twitching. But, him finding it wasn’t much better. What on earth was he suppose to do with a dead kid? Bury her? His scent would be all over that!
What happened next was something that Koga hadn’t anticipated, or even believed he would want, despite being very much happy it was the case. That being the girl who lightly shifted in his arms, causing him to flicker like a light into absolute confusion. She let out a soft groan and just as soon her eyes would begin to flutter. She was regaining consciousness. He should let go, he told himself but his body remained still. He had all but lost the sound of a heartbeat from this one.. and even still she held life? Was he going deaf?“Hey… hey, wake up.” he said almost anxiously, unable to stop himself. His rough hands shook her softly.
It was almost as if she had received a jewel shard straight into her chest at that moment, as her once still heart started thrashing her about her chest and her eyes shot open. Had she been shocked or something? She began shaking aggressively, and stammering out things he couldn’t quite comprehend. Yah.. yehh? N..nooo– And suddenly it hit him like a brick to the face. She was about to- NO. NO, NO NO NONONO. DON’T SCREA– insert something of an ear check for the wolf in the form a blistering scream.
WOAH. HEY. Had she learned that deafening tactic from Kagome or something!? Damn! He wasn’t sure if he said those things out loud… regardless, he was not pleased with it. Nor the fact she began pushing at his chest and smacking at his face.
“Cut that out!” that was something that he for sure yelled out as he let go of her. Surely Kagome could forgive him for letting a wounded child fall if she wanted it so desperately, right? When he looked back to the young girl she was backed away as much as she possibly could be, a small puddle of blood left behind where she had once been. “What the hell’s yer problem?! I go outta’ my way to help ya and yer here attackin’ me?!” He would simmer down as tears began bubbling in her soft brown eyes. This was a type of compassion that Kagome had taught him.. ya know.. the old try not to yell at people who are crying thing. Basic as it is, Koga took some time to understand that. He raised his hands in a sort of surrendering manner, letting out a defeated sigh to match. “Alright, ya know what? I get it. Yer’ scared. But, I ain’t done nothin’ to ya. So, quit screamin’ so much. Okay?” Sweet Koga, and why not just tuck her in with some glass covered sheets while you’re at it? You’re not being comforting, at all!
Though, this girl would disagree with the internal monologue of the wolf leader. It showed as her quivering lip relaxed a bit. Perhaps it was with her younger age or the fact she was so desperate but… “I don’t want to die..” she whimpered out, and that brought a strange reaction from the male… sympathy?? Kagome was definitely going to need to take a step back. She was changing everything about him and making him into some sorta… girly boy. Insert internal shudder from Koga. “Please.. just let me go home…” There it goes again. That sad and guilty feeling.. But, she wasn’t speaking nonsense. Her village would likely be able to care for her much better than he would, especially with his lack in actually treating wounds.
“I can take you to your village.” he offered. Albeit he wasn’t sure why. It wasn’t as if he owed her anything.
She would instantly shoot a look of horror his way. “N-no…” she began but he would answer too fast for her to finish her sentence.
“Yer’ too weak to even crawl way from someone who ya think is gonna kill ya.” Wow Koga. If you ever had a thought of being a hands on parent, don’t. You only make every situation you include yourself in worse. Koga shrugged off the “say sorry” feeling and instead just rose to his feet. “But, really, if I wanted to kill you? Dun'cha think I'da done it when you were unconscious only a bit ago?” Besides… reassurance of her current safety was much better than a meaningless apology anyway.
The girl seemed to realize the truth of his words, giving a defeated look toward the maroon stained ground below her. “And you won’t hurt my family… my friends?” her voice was startling weak even for her present state of being.
The wolf held resolute as always, saying, “I won’t lay a hand on em’.” not missing a beat. He really wished she didn’t have to question it.. but with every fact he had found thus far.. could he really blame her?
She didn’t want to believe him, nor did she wish to trust him… not after everything… But, she had no choice… at this rate, she wouldn’t make it anywhere without his aid. “Okay..”
With her consent given, Koga would slowly make his way to her again as if trying to close in on a small animal. Gently he picked her up, helping her adjust her arm to over his shoulder and working his arm around her lower back. His other hand found itself wrapped over her knee. She was secure now and that’s all he needed before he began walking.
“Is this okay? I ain’t hurtin’ ya, am I?” he asked softly as they walked. She shook her head softly. “Good.”
The two shared a rather quiet venture, aside from her occasional directions. This made the wolf feel… awkward. Yes, very awkward. Although that awkwardness would only last so long as what they would stumble upon would bring a new sense of nervousness. Koga stopped mid step, actually taking a few back instead.
This was not lost on the girl who peeked up at him and furrowed her eyebrows, frowning a bit. “What?”
“I uh… yer village….” he said awkwardly, trying to avoid any sort of actual interaction with the girl so he wouldn’t have any guilty conscious later about leaving her in a village without making sure she was okay. “Is there anyone outside I could hand you off to? Guards, maybe?” The idea of being inside of an unfamiliar area carrying one of their wounded offspring did not sound exactly.. comforting.
She leaned into him a bit more than before, and he quickly looked back at her in concern that she might have passed away right then. But, she hadn’t. She was… hugging him? What the hell? “You’re scared.”Scared?! Big talk from someone so damaged! “I ain’t scared!”
“It’s okay to be afraid. But, I won’t let anyone hurt you.”
What was she? Some sorta weird wanna be leader? She wasn’t exactly in the position to be giving anyone demands, or even promising things! What could she even do to stop them from unleashing hell on him when they saw him? Nothing! Jack shit! “Tch. You didn’t answer my question.”
“I need to be brought to a doctor, do you know what that is?”
Admittedly.. he didn’t. Not really. “Sure, yeah.”
“I’ll lead you to it, and I promise no one will hurt you while I’m with you..”
“You didn’t hurt me. You…”
He didn’t! He was only cleaning up the mess left behind by someone who would more than likely be slaughtered when he identified them. Tch.. putting his good name to risk with his beloved all for the sake of a child they couldn’t even finish. “Whatever.” he growled out. It was obvious she wasn’t going to let him just drop her off at the gates and knock. So, he might as well deal with what’s on his shoulders.. er.. back.. now.
It was as if that small exchange opened the young girl up to more conversation. Oh dear god no. She was rambling on about her parents and how they always helped people. Good for her. Koga became a bit intrigued in hearing that her mother had passed away only months before after a demon attack. So this village of hers would most certainly not be welcoming him with open arms anytime soon… gotccchhaa. His tail flicked about anxiously. Just had to focus to get her into a safe place and bolting the fuck out of there.
“There!” What? “Right there, it’s my village!”
She had a shocking amount of energy… “Where are yer’ gates?”
“We don’t have them, silly.”
Explains why you get attacked so much, to be frank. But he was Koga and thus… “Oh.” was all he said. Time to drop this little kid of here, and take to the hills.
Abrupt ends are abrupt. Although, I may or may not continue this in the next ask I have which seems like it would fit with this. For right now I don’t have any more in me to write about this. Sorry that this ask is so late, I am just getting to a lot of asks in my inbox. But, I hope you enjoyed.
