Leaf propagation (top row) takes longer than cuttings (bottom), but it generates more per mother/stock plant. Leaves have to create roots and new leaves, while cuttings just need to create roots.

Rhipsalis, generally known as mistletoe cacti. Shown here are: R. burchellii (top), R. pilocarpa (middle with bloom), and R. teres (bottom with bloom). The blooms give way to small berries which give the plants their common name.

Spotted some stripes! This is a female Banded Garden Spider, aka Writing Spider (for the zigzags in their webs), Argiope trifasciata. One of the largest spiders in New York State!

Adromischus cristatus, common name Crinkle Leaf Plant, is a slow-growing succulent. The distinctive shape of the leaves gives the plant its name. It develops a short flower spike in spring.
