Still not over the fact that Cas' true happiness came from telling Dean he was worth being loved.

Because Castiel didn't just tell Dean he loved him, no, that wouldn't have done it. Cas needed Dean to believe, even for an instant, that he was good, and that someone saw who he truly was, the good and the bad, and still loved him. Still cared about him above everything else.

One of the first thing Cas realized about Dean was that he didn't think he deserved to be saved, so Cas spent the rest of his life making sure that silly human knew he was the most precious thing in the world.

Cas didn't just tell Dean he loved him, he tried to teach him to love himself too.
