Oh, he’s being challenging, alright. Just like I’m sure Marcus is being dreamy. But he can be both, to be honest. He tries to keep his appearances up, even now, but he slips and he gets all mushy sometimes.

So long as they don’t know for sure this is how we feel…? Or maybe we could trick them into confessing it themselves so we wouldn’t need to worry about it.

I think you're right. But hey... isn't Pete challenging enough? I mean... he's quite a handful to deal with. Or wait, does he turn into an innocent little puppy when he's with you? I can actually imagine him swooning over you like a lovestruck bird. Although he'd never admit that to us, other mortals.
