If you’re reading this (and my anxiety tells me that since you haven’t tried to talk to me lately, you probably are),
I hope you regret every time you told me how worthless I was.
I hope right around this time of year, your stomach has the same pit in it that I had that summer things blew up.
We lived in an apartment I was supposed to share with my best friend. This was supposed to be a summer of drinks on patios and late night adventures.
Instead I lost my best friend, worked 50 hours a week waitressing to keep your habits going, and started drinking in a way I can never fully shake the guilt of.
That summer, for the last time, you pinned me down and stared at me with pitch black eyes. Do you even remember how you felt in that moment?
I will NEVER lock myself in a bathroom and pray to God to save me again.
I am SO much better without you. I have a life that has a future.
A future with a man that loves me.
A future with friends.
A future where I don’t feel lost.
I really hope you somehow find out how happy I am despite you, and I hope it is enough to keep you away from me for the rest of your life.
