On the outside it may appear like I have it all together, but believe it or not, I struggle with insecurity and body image issues too. My platform, "You Are Enough: Developing a Positive Body Image" turns my trials into triumphs as I share my story to give people hope. I hope this leaves you encouraged!! Comment below and say hi! The REAL Back to School CheckList: College Freshman Addition
The REAL Back to School CheckList: College Freshman Addition
Ok I confess; I was a bit weird as a kid. My favorite time of the summer was late August/early September, because that’s when all the Back to School stuff would come out. I would run to the cardboard display with all the schools shopping lists inserted in them, and be so excited to grab my own. Even when I got to college, back to school shopping was like a second Christmas for me. However, now…

My Motivation to Stay Healthy!
Staying motivated isn’t always a walk in the park, but if you can find a way to keep your momentum strong, it’s well worth it.
I am a firm believer in living life to the fullest. For me that means indulging when I want to indulge while stay fit and healthy all at the same time. Life is about moderation NOT dieting!
If I can give you any advice it would be to focus on how your body FEELS. Try to not focus too much on how your body looks because there is no mold that you need to fit into in order to be beautiful. Once you can feel confident in your own skin your motivation won’t fade, it will become a daily part of life.
Every morning, look in the mirror and build yourself up. Get ready to conquer the day with the motivation to FEEL your BEST!!
xoxo Alicia
Although it may sound cheesy, I feel as though my talent found me. I started dancing at the age of three, training in all forms of dance. But for some reason, tap dancing gave me this adrenaline that I couldn't find anywhere else.
Tapping brings me so much joy because it’s like playing an instrument. I get to amplify music with the sound of my taps and there is nothing much better than that.
I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that I get to dance on THE Miss America stage. I am so blessed.
Don’t forget to tune un on ABC September 11th at 9pm eastern to watch me compete for the title of Miss America!!
Be Confidently YOU!
Being confident has many meanings in my life, but the most important is to be confidently me. One of the greatest gifts from God is our individuality, so why not celebrate it by loving ourselves and everything that we are?!
Staying confident isn’t always a walk in the park, especially in today’s world. That’s why we need to build each other up instead of tearing each other down so that we can help one another be confident in our own skin.
Don’t waste time trying to be anyone but yourself because YOU are good enough and YOU deserve to confident with who you are.
xoxo Alicia
#InspiredBy
Whenever I’m asked about what inspires me one thing always comes to mind, family. I have been blessed with a very close and supportive upbringing that has helped me stay strong and courageous through every aspect of my life.
One of the greatest feelings in the world is the love and support of my family. They have helped sculpt me into the woman I am today, and I am forever grateful.
What inspires you?
What Are You Going to Do Next?
Has it really been 5 months? Yes. yes it has, and I wish I could give you a great excuse on why I haven’t written anything–but I’m sure by now you all have seen my social media accounts. I’ve been a busy lady! I won;’ go into detail, but I have (literally) traveled all over Washington state, and with my last two months I will be fitting in as many events as possible before I am forced to pass…

Mentoring for World Peace
Mentoring for World Peace
World Peace. If I had a nickel for every time someone said that to me, I would be on Forbes “Top Earning Young People” list. However, it comes with the territory of being in pageantry. As Miss Washington, I happily converse with people of all walks of life who jokingly ask me if I believe the answer to everything is world peace. I can tell you with great confidence my opinions are a bit…

How to Win your Next Pageant
Hello everyone! welcome to 2016! I hope you enjoyed that shift into the New Year as I did (meme of me watching netflix) December has been a very busy month for me, and while all the events have been awesome (please see Instagram and Facebook posts), I’m grateful for the mini break I’m currently having with my family. I remember roughly a year ago when I was struggling to write a New Years post…

How I Won Scholarships Before I Ever Heard of Miss America
How I Won Scholarships Before I Ever Heard of Miss America
This may be because I have been marathoning One Tree Hill on Netflix, but lately I have been reminiscing about high school, and how the decisions I made then laid down the foundation of my life now. Don’t get me wrong, nothing incredibly dramatic happened directly to me while in school like those in Tree Hill (I’m looking at you Psycho Derek). However, I did have a close family member undergo…

Happy November everybody! Now that the holiday season is upon us, it’s that time of the year when you have to get your SAT and/or ACT done before you turn in your application (if you haven’t done so already). If you are following along on the 12th year campaign timeline, you would see that they agree with me. For high school seniors November is the last month you have to tackle these tests.…

Top 10 Social Media Mistakes to Avoid for Businesses
Top 10 Social Media Mistakes to Avoid for Businesses
Wow…it’s been a while since I did a marketing tips post on here! I just came back from the Renton Chamber of Commerce, where I spoke about utilizing social media for businesses. During the discussion, I highlighted 10 common mistakes small businesses make while using social media and promised I would post it so that they had a reference later. I figured since the rest of you weren’t able to hear…
