If anyone wants a link to an extra download of folklore just message me! I have a bunch left.
I made the mistake of staying up late and not wearing my glasses so now I have a headache that I can feel begging to be a migraine so I’m off to Hybernate until I have to go to work tomorrow.
folklore joined reputation and lover
Also can we talk about the backing vocals sounding like ethereal beings? like she got some fairies in the studio or some shit
Okay it's 2 am so excuse me if this doesn't make total sense but I feel like alot of the songs on folklore are almost companion pieces to past songs. Some like a fictional sequel and some like the other side of a situation.
Now please excuse me while I ramble about a theory I've been trying to work out since the second I heard seven:
For example, seven feels like the other side of It's Nice to Have a Friend.
"and though I can't recall your face, I still got love for you" and then the "Your braids like a pattern" and "We can be pirates" sounds very childlike. The protectiveness of "Your dad is always mad... You should come live with me." Compliments the "Lost my gloves, you gave me one" and the "Walk me home"
It almost feels like a story of two friends who were close as kids, drifted a bit until they met back up when they were older ("sun sinks down, no curfew" shows that they were adults now as opposed to when they were kids) and I imagine seven to fit in right when they meet again. How the person singing seven can't quite recall inthaf's face when they were young but they remember the love and who they were then.
Now, that being said: I kinda feel like part of the beauty of this album is that the songs can be interpreted to mean different things and to support a million stories, like a folktale. You can take any song off the album and write endless stories that fit perfectly, something I plan to do a whole lot of.
“ Went home and tried to stalk you on the internet “
This line has got to be the best because it really just proves that Taylor is just as crazy as us.
anyone else ever think about the rep tour and cry a lil
CATS AND TAYLOR SWIFT
I have been spending my days sewing masks and I thought I would share a little about that!
I’ve been using a free pattern (linked below) and for fabric I’ve been using reusable shopping bags that are waffled not woven.
The simple masks are really easy to make and once you make the first one or two it’s very simple. If you want to try to make some masks but maybe you’re nervous to sew or haven’t ever sewn please feel free to reach out to me! I’m by no means a pro, but I thought myself how to sew leading up to Rep Tour when I made my skirt so I know just enough to make something like this!
https://www.commonsewing.com/workshops there are 2 different types of masks, I recommend starting with the simple one and then moving on if you feel comfortable. She also has really simple follow along videos to go with the patterns and written out instructions.
(Okay so ignore the very old sewing machine that looks perpetually dirty and my stained nail)
hearing “im so proud of you” when you feel like you aren’t doing enough really lifts some weight off your shoulders
may your heart remain breakable, but never by the same hand twice.
I live for this poem

are you ready for it?
