[Predebut Namgi]
Namjoon: You're sick. You are a sick person.
Yoongi: You're just now figuring that out?
Rainy day in Korea - oneshot
Characters: Yoongi x You (first person POV)
Word count: 2,438 words
Was it cloudy? Yes. Did it look like it was going to rain? Also yes. Should I have brought my umbrella? Definitively. Could Ihave stayed at home? That too. But I loved cloudy and windy weather way too much not to go out for a walk by the Han River. Not many people appreciated the beauty of a rainy day, the chilly air, the smell, the overall feeling and sensation of something about to happen, that was beautiful. Even if I, like many people, liked the opportunity to stay home to watch movies, this being the first rainy day of my time being in South Korea I felt she had to see it. I also always looked for an excuse to go to the Han River.
That was one thing and another was having forgotten my umbrella when the rain was way heavier than I thought it would be. Now I was soaking wet storming into the first café I found. I probably shoul’ve run towards my dorm but my short walk turned out to be a really long one and now I was quite far away from it.
I was never a fan of coffee, the smell made me a little dizzy but I enjoyed a sweet coffee when the occation demanded it. Since this place was nice (and I had no other option) I thought of staying there until it stopped raining.
The only problem was that I started to shiver because of my wet self being exposed to the air conditioner.
"Excuse me miss, are you gonna order something?" the manager asked.
Panicking I looked for her wallet on my pockets knowing I didn't bring it because I was just out for a walk. I'm such a genius. "I'm sorry, I think I forgot my wallet, can't you allow me to stay until it stops raining?"
"I'm sorry miss, but you're dripping water on the floor, other costumers might fall down, if I allow it..." he said with a deep voice.
"Please" I cut him "I can't go out, it's pouring raining, there aren't many costumers, please, I'll help you cleaning..."
The manager opened his mouth to reply when a different voice interrupted "would you like a caramel macchiato? You look like you like sweet things" he said looking at you right in the eye.
"Excuse me?" I said surprised and confused by his question looking up at the guy.
"I'd like to invite you a coffee so you can stay and make me a little company while I wait for the rain to stop" he said nonchalantly yet confidently enough to make my heart beat fast.
The manager rolled his eyes then looked at her. "That sounds really nice" she said smiling at the stranger who motioned her to his table.
"Thank you for that, how can I repay you-"
"No need for that, seriously" he said taking off his leather jacket and placing it on her shoulders "I know it's not the warmest thing but it'll help you not to get sick". She only smiled at this.
"Still..." she tried to look confident "I want to repay you somehow, especially because you are now stuck with me"
"That sounds like a repay though" he said looking at her in the eye. And at that moment her coffee arrived.
So what he said was real, he really wanted to invite me coffee. Looking at her coffe and blushing a little she then sipped a little "how did you know I like sweet coffee?"
"I just guessed a cute girl could only like sweet coffee" he said removing his face mask to drink his coffee. She then recognized him. Wait, really? How did I not recognize him before? That deep slightly raspy sexy voice, black leather jacket, black beanie, black mask, those glasses, I've seen this look plenty of times... Was I that panicked not to notice?
"You are really smooth with words" she tried to ignore the fact that she knew him, she didn't want to seem like a crazy fan and start fangirling, although her blushed cheeks gave her away a little. Maybe it was a matter of pride, but she didn't want him to know she recognized him but him telling her who he was.
The talk kept flooding smoothly. Starting from how she ended up all wet in that café, to likes and dislikes about things in life. Somehow it seemed like he wanted to avoid asking her what she studied. He probably knows that if he asks me what do I do, I'll ask him the same.
"Well, since you like to try all sorts of foods, I'd like to recomend you some dishes from where I'm from" she said continuing the conversation "if you don't try them there it probably won't taste the same but if you hear of them somewhere try them still..."
"Where are you from though?" he interrupted her "I'd like to know what kind of thing I could be facing"
She laughed. "I thought you could have guessed, I'm from Mexico"
"So that explains your accent" he said resting his head on his hands "but your korean is pretty good. I'm impressed"
"I have to admit I've had a little trouble keeping up with some words you've said tonight but I try my best" she smiled somewhat proud. "I love learning languages, I believe one can learn something from the culture by its language and It has helped me be more confident in social matters"
He just looked at her. Unreadable expression. There was a pause in the air. "So that's why you're here" he said breaking the silence "to learn more about korean culture and the language"
"That was my real intention, but actually I study business, I thought It'd be the best option to give languages better use..." she looked away a little embarrassed "also I thought it would help me to travel around the world more easily..."
He laughed. Wholeheartedly. Genuinely. He looked beautiful that way. Her heart melted a little.
"You know, that's a really good way to take advantage of something you like" he said flashing her a gummy smile.
"Thank you" she blushed "so, regarding to what you said earlier... I got a scholarship along with my best friend to study here for a semester"
"Oh, I see" he nodded "when are you supposed to leave?"
"Around June"
"It's April, you have about two months left" he seemed surprised by this.
"I know" she smiled, remembering all the time she's been here "I know there's not much time left but I've enjoyed a lot all my time here and I'll certainly enjoy the next months. I know I've been studying a lot and haven't been able to go around as much as I'd like, but it's enough to be in love with what I've seen. And I'm happy that I get to spend my birthday here..."
"Is your birthday coming up?" he interrupted with curiosity
"It's in two days actually" she said shyly "I'll miss my mom and family but my best friend is here and I love going to the Han River so I thought it would be a good idea going there at least for a moment that day"
"I get that feeling, the peacefulness and silence that's there, it's just..." he looked away as if remembering something "it's a really good way to spend a birthday"
"Thanks, I really hope my friends give me a break to go there by myself" she said happily "anyway... I told you what I do, so now tell me what do you study?"
"Me?!" he almost chocked "I... Uh..."
"What?" she smirked
"I..." he stopped for a moment as if he was thinking something "...do you know BTS?"
That was it. That was the question she was waiting for. And the way she expected. Except of the fact that his signature smirk wasn't there. Is he embarrassed to say it? Or is he nervous?
"Of course I know them" she replied excitedly, leaning forward "they're famous everywhere, one supermarket of my city played 'Fire' once and I almost tripped because I was so shocked"
"So you're a fan of them? ...of us?" he asked a little more animated but confused.
"You'd be surprised" she looked right into his eyes "I even recognized you since the beginning... Suga... Min Yoongi"
He laughed. "Why didn't you say anything?"
"I wanted to keep my cool" she leaned back trying to look cool "and I hoped you could be more genuine if you thought I wasn't a fan and just some random girl who owed you a favor"
"Waah..." he said still smiling "and why saying it now?"
"Because I really admire you" she said slowly looking up at him "and I wanted to tell you that before one of us had to leave and this is one in a lifetime chance"
He just kept looking at her with that unreadable face of his. "I always thought you and I were kind of similar" she kept saying "but you fought and tried really hard to get where you are because that's what you wanted"
"You also tried hard to be here..." he stated
"Yes, but if it hadn't been because my mom supported me a lot in all my ups and downs I wouldn't be here right now. I wouldn't have had the strength to keep trying and probably wouldn't have given up. That's why I admire you, even if you thought about quiting for any reason at some point, you didn't".
He fell silent for a moment, thinking. "You know..." he started "you do have the strength, you just don't see it because you didn't need to use that kind of strength. Besides, you said your mom supported you, sorry if I'm wrong but I'm assuming your dad didn't, it must have been hard not being supported by both your parents, Hoseok was in that position"
"Yeah, I know..." she trailed off "It's different though, my dad abandoned my family when I was three years old, so my mom tried harder to provide for my brother and me of what my dad didn't give us..." her voice filling with memories started to fade a little "We all have problems of some sort with our parents, I don't think my case is the worst, I've always considered that it's better not to have a dad than having a bad one, you know, to make me feel better"
He opened his mouth as trying to say something multiple times "it seems like you have more strength than you think you have" he looked directly in her eyes "I admire you for not giving up either"
They talked a little more about how Yoongi often goes to that café because no many people go there and he isn't recognized there so he can enjoy his coffee.
When she sneezed Yoongi said she shouldn't get sick before her birthday so she should go back and change her clothes. To which she agreed. They both walked outside after paying.
"Thank you again for the coffee Yoongi..." she said apologetically "should I call you oppa? I'm younger than you but I'm not korean so I don't know if it's right to call you that way..."
"Oppa is fine" he cut her off smiling a little "it sounds nice and I was wondering how it would feel like being called oppa by a foreigner"
She just smiled. "Well, I should get going, thanks for everything and it was really nice meeting you, the best early birthday present ever"
"Are you just gonna walk back home?" he shrugged
"Yeah, I told you I went for a walk and ended up too far away..." she trailed off "I also don't have a car anyway"
He looked away for a moment, thinking deeply "I can give you a ride. I can't let a pretty foreigner girl walk alone in the streets at this hour"
"Seriously?" she said with a surprised face "wouldn't that be too much? You probably have some schedule, I already took too much of your time..."
"That's not more important than your safety" he said seriously, quite coolly "besides we have two free weeks before dropping the first teaser for the comeback..." he looked at her surprised face "oh... Uh... Keep that as a secret please"
"Don't worry" she laughed a little "but are you sure you can drive me?"
"Definitely" he said turning away "let's go, I parked really close"
The ride home was rather quiet but nice. Except for her mind. I'm dreaming, right? This is just a really nice dream, right? Am I seriously in Min Yoongi's car?
They arrived at the dorm's building. "Thank you again" she said unbuckling her safety belt "...I know I've said that a lot today but it feels like it isn't enough"
"It's seriously okay..." he looked down then up into her eyes "I realized... You didn't tell me your name"
"You didn't ask" she said softly but boldly
"I'm asking now"
"Hana"
"That doesn't sound so mexican"
"I know but I like it, it's a flower"
"Hana..." he started to extend his hand to her face "you have something in your cheek"
"Really?"
He then cupped her face "no" and leaned to kiss her.
Her face was burning, a lot of things going through her mind, not believing the situation but also enjoying it way too much she dared to try to slip her tongue. He reciprocated but before it got too heated he pulled apart.
"I... Uh..." she stared a little out of breath.
"Don't apologize nor thank again" he looked away and then at her "consider it as the repay you insisted so much, or a birthday gift or as whatever you want it to mean"
She smiled, still a little out of breath and blushing like crazy. "I hope I see you again Yoongi oppa, I'll wait for your comeback" she said stepping out of the car.
"I hope you can go to a fanmeeting" he said before she closed the door. They waved at each other and he drove away.
She watched until he left. Then went upstairs to find her roomate, her best friend worried and quite mad.
"Where were you?" she asked Hana "do you know what time it is?! Dinner is cold already. What's with the jacket?"
"Sorry Violet!" Hana looked at the jacket still on her body "shit! I forgot to give him back his jacket" she then looked back at Violet "you won't believe the night I just had".
"I'm sorry I can't go out with you, you don't fulfill my intelectual needs but you're a nice chat"

Jungkook: Manga lied to me.
Jungkook: I never see bad boy types protecting stray kittens, revealing to me their soft side.
Jungkook: It's always me picking up the kittens.
Jungkook:
Jungkook:
Jungkook: Maybe I'm the bad boy.
Namjoon: I'm pretty easy going.
Seokjin: You once used a ruler to measure another ruler.
Namjoon: It was off by half a centimetre. It never should've been in circulation.
Seokjin: So you have 12 apples and your girlfriend asks for 6 - what do you have?
Jungkook, tearing up: A girlfriend.

Yoongi: Hope you get run over.
Namjoon: Hoping is all well and good, but ultimately, it gets you nowhere. Be the change you wish to see in the world. Get in your car and run me the fuck down instead of waiting for others to do your work for you, you coward. You lazy fool.
Jin: That may be the first time in my life a man has dared insult me.
Yoongi: It won't be the last.
Hoseok: I really like the 'good cop, bad cop' thing you and Yoongi have got going on.
Namjoon: It's not really a thing, it's more like I'm nice and he's not.
Namjoon: Quit sulking like a baby!
Yoongi: I'm sulking like a full grown man!
Taehyung, at three am, calling Yoongi: My finger just made a weird noise
Namjoon: Jungkook, why don't you show Jimin what a fax machine is?
Jungkook: okay. imagine a letter had unprotected sex with a phone
yoongi, whispering: i don't like you
jin, whispering: i'll get over it
Yoongi: You… have a face
Hoseok: Yes. Yes I do.
Yoongi: I mean, a nice face. You have a very nice face
Hoseok: Thanks, I think?
Yoongi: Please accept my attempts at flirting, I don't know what I'm doing.
Jungkook: can I ask you something?
Namjoon: what?
Jungkook: are you like, um
Jungkook: my dad?
Namjoon: what?
Jungkook: are, you
Jungkook: like the father of me and shit?
