“The very very first time we met, I played Nashville and her mom Andrea came down to watch me at the Ryman and brought me like a gramophone that you stick an iPhone in, that kind of plays it. And we met after that in a hotel room in I want to say Seattle or something. It wasn’t like Los Angeles, New York, Nashville - it wasn’t like that. I think it was Seattle. We famously wrote it on the trampoline. She was like, 'Do you want to see my trampoline?’ and I was like, 'Yeah!’ so we brought two guitars on the trampoline and just got kind of going back and forth, so that’s when that song was written.”
