her name means music, she is a forever muse.

the cruz’s are a very respected family in most circles, her father a world renowned cardiothoracic surgeon and her mother a world renowned violinist, to say pressure was in the household was an understatement.
the cruz children were pushed into academics and music, a balance of both of their parents strengths, and were only expected to be the best in everything they did.
calliope being the youngest and only girl, her mother expected her to follow in her footsteps, though calliope had other plans when she fell in love with the art of ballet. her mother outraged by her life choices, this won’t be the last time lmao, only allowed calliope to be a ballerina because of her raw talent and the promise that she would be the best.
calliope left home when she was six, only returning back to california for holidays, she spent most of her years traveling the world or in new york where she studied. by the time she was twelve, her career had taken off and she was respected in the industry, praised constantly, you could even say her mother was delighted with her daughter’s success.
although this all changed, when calliope turned sixteen, it was her dream role, opening night, and she got the worst news of her life, her brother was in a terrible car accident and had died.
her brother played the piano, he was the preferred child, he did no wrong, and did everything right, but even without that, he was one of calliope’s favorite people, he was always there for her, rooting for her, he was her person, and when she lost him, she herself got lost.
