Sex isn't actually biological either, by the way.

Sex is the social construct we use to attach gender to bodies.

If it was actually about science, they would have updated biology classes with info about intersex variations as soon as they were discovered and documented - the way animal biology does with new species, and chemistry does with new elements.

There are over 40 different intersex variations named and described by medicine!! We know for an absolute fact that intersex traits exist, including chromosome sets besides just XX and XY - there's also XXY, XYY, XXX, X-null, and more. If this was actually about science, you would have been taught about them.

If it was actually about science, you would have been taught that what we think of as biological sex isn't any kind of binary - it's constellations of averages of similar traits, any of which may or may not occur alongside any other sex-associated traits in any specific person.

If it was actually about science, we wouldn't actually still be arguing about this, period, because the fact that the sex binary is false undermines the entire rationale for the gender binary's existence.

And if it was actually about science, intersex people would be subjected to a hell of a lot fewer infant genital mutilations and other human rights violations.

I get that it's a compliment (I am sometimes very flattered by it) and that they're coming at it from a place of selfloathing or desperation (they deserve compassion or at least pity), but I really do fucking hate how girls are CONSTANTLY asking how they can look like me.

I think we should all be a little bit more ashamed or wanting to look different than we do.

Which I recognize is a deranged thing to say. Both because shame is never a great method of ending desires and because the thing uniting us as a community is that we're all chomping on girl pills for the expressed purpose of changing how we look.

But by wanting and trying look a certain way (and they are always asking to look more conventionally attractive and not less conventionally attractive) you're accepting the premise that there is a right way to look (that these beauty standards built out of a dozen forms of bigotry are justified) and by vocalizing that desire you're reenforcing that belief for everyone around you.

Would bashing an advertising executive's skull in with a metal pipe be more effective than complaining about marginalized girls for hating themselves in a world that already hates them? Absolutely! But those girls are the ones in arms reach. And thats why intra community violence and callout posts etc are so common.
