Hey guys- Please take a moment to read and share this. Just a few minutes of your time could help my mom get an operation she needs very badly! This is serious. My mom has Pelvic Organ Prolapse and has been in need of a surgery called an LAVH (http://goo.gl/yrz1s) for a while now. Pelvic Organ Prolapse is a painful condition that makes it hard to eat, use the bathroom, and a whole slew of other things… Because her condition is considered “pre-existing” her insurance company refuses to pay for the operation. The funny thing is that she needs the surgery SO BADLY that her doctor has volunteered to do the surgery for free. But that isn’t enough. The hospital still requires payment for the use of its facilities, in the amount of $3,500.00. Because I know my mom can’t want until 2014, when insurance companies will no longer be able practice this discrimination, I created this WePay donation page. My mother does not deserve to live a pain-ridden life. She has worked hard and sacrificed so much from a young age to support me and my two siblings, for the most part as a single mother. She worked in fast food, in tree nurseries, factories, and even a tool and die - where she lost three fingers on her right hand. People act like those who need help are lazy, not pulling their own weight, should be ashamed of themselves, etc… But my mother has pulled more than her own weight! If you can afford to donate, your kindness will not be forgotten and your generosity will not go to waste. If you cannot, that is okay! But PLEASE… Please, please - help spread this around!
