Hey friend, 

I know today you feel a lot. 

You're feeling down and losing focus.

I know you think that you'll never be happy. That those things you so badly want are too hard to reach...for someone like you. And maybe today, you're even feeling certain that you never will. 

But from a broken and refurbished person to a broken you, let me tell you something... You will be okay.

You are enough, you are perfectly you and no one else in the world can be that. If the situation is too hard today, give yourself grace and if you have to sleep the day away, do that.

Dream instead.

Tomorrow, wake up and be proud that you woke up to another day, because depression is a real bitch and no one knows it better than the depressed. Every day we wake up is another miracle and I know it takes a lot. Others may not understand, but I do, because I was you.

You are here today which means yesterday's thoughts didn't overcome you... you controlled that shit. You're fucking amazing you know that? You're so strong. 

You will be okay. 

There's a future where you can come to learn, that once you've learned your power over your thoughts, it's a lot easier to tell them to fuck off.

You are in power of you.

If you want to reach that future, choose yourself, every day. Be louder than your head, be louder and the negative thoughts that scream you into a headache. One day you'll wake up to your life, in new skin, in a less foggy state mind, not feeling constantly sick, and heavy... And you'll be happy and grateful that you're still here because of all the beautiful things you could've missed out on that are now yours. It may not happen in a day... But it will be worth it to push through, I promise.

You'll be okay... You are okay. More than that, you're here and you did it all on your own.

My grandmother exuded energy through and through. People like her make my mind ache for answers... Where do we go?

If energy is neither created nor destroyed, where is she now?

My earliest memories include her... There were personal achievements I thought I'd never accomplish in time for her to see. And thankfully, she lived long enough to know that I'd be okay, even though she wasn't. I feel deeply in my heart that she waited, clinging to life until she knew we'd all be okay. And I trust that we gave her the peace she longed for on her ascent into heaven.

I hope that the energy she so selflessly shared and lit us all with didn't go to waste, but that it radiated like the star that she was, making the world a little brighter and better on her way to her next life.

Our family carries her light in our blood, that humor, that openness and enchantment.

A constellation forever etched in our hearts,

Guiding us onward, until in that starlight's embrace,

We meet again.
