Our amazing underwater team! Thanks to the underwater DP Riley and underwater Tech Nate in full scuba gear, our amazing water safety lead Chris (the fastest swimmer we know), and our land-based DP Alex, who jumped in to film the split-surface shots, we were able to show Miss Gog's underwater world in all its scary, murky glory.

AN ODE TO SAL: Sal the pit bull mix was our location manager, cheerleader, therapy dog, and closest confidant. Sal is actually the reason we found the dock we filmed from! On our very first scout, months before the shoot, we were at Sal's neighbor's house looking at their dock. It wasn't going to work. But all of the sudden, Sal shoots out the back door like a cannon from the house over, excited to greet us with slobber and playtime. When Sal's mom came over, we told her we were looking for a place to dock our boat for filming. Without hesitation, Sal's mom said yes! Sal's family were the kindest hosts we could have asked for. Sal became a part of the crew by the end of the week, even knowing when she needed to be quiet because the camera was rolling. She wanted to be a part of the action, watch the performances, and maybe get a little treat from the crafty table should anyone be so clumsy.

No movie is made without a little drama. In our case, it was a utility line fire on the property the crew was staying at. Imagine, you've just loaded Sleeping Beauty into the VCR after a long day on the lake. You've showered off the sunscreen and curl up under the blanket. The props for the next day are being perfected at the kitchen table. You look up... flames? We ran outside and found the power lines flaming at the top of the utility pole. Within a minute, we'd found 3 fire extinguishers on the property, alerted emergency services, and all the adults - the Copes, the Mannings - were pulled out of bed to come sit with us in the powered off darkness as the amazing volunteers at the Charleston Police Department came to the rescue.

The property we were staying in was at the end of a maze of unmarked dirt roads. The golden coincidence, though, was that we had made signs - "GOG THIS WAY" for our out-of-towners driving in. The 911 operator was both confused but pleasantly suprised when I told her, "follow the signs that say GOG, they'll lead you straight to us."

Bill, one of our Executive Producers, allowed us to film on his boat. This picture is from our trip out onto the lake during our first scout. He even came out with us to film a few scenes on the middle of the lake. He hid in the cabin with the director to watch the monitor. His only note - "I would have used more blood." Anastasia took over as boat captain on the day Bill wasn't able to join us. She would like everyone to know she worked at a boat rental. We were heading out to a hard afternoon of work, but here she appears to be on her way to Margaritaville.
