She didn’t want to hear it? Sirius’ mouth fell open slightly and he took a step away from her, seeing the expression on hr face. He had no idea what she was thinking about right now, but it was obvious that she didn’t want him around. “Fine.” He whispered softly, before turning around and walking away. Before he left however he turned around and looked at her, giving a soft shake of his head. “I’m bloody well going. But don’t you dare say that I didn’t try, Marlene. Don’t come to me in a few days acting normally, because I won’t have it. I won’t have you keep fucking with me.”
She looked up at him and tried to explain, she tried to think of something anything to say to make this hurt him a little less, hell to ease her own pain too. In the end all she came up with was, "I can't hear you say it Sirius, because if I do I can't walk away." Her voice wasn't as strong as it should have been and she drew another breath. "Sirius, you... I don't know if you did try, but in the end it doesn't matter, you need to be with someone like Grace, so go. Go be happy with her." She took a step back, away from him. It didn't feel like they were done, it didn't feel like an ending, there was no closure, but she supposed that was to be expected.
