“Are you surprised?” the agent inquired, trying to raise a brow before wincing at the pain. “I’ve got a sister. So, there’s yet another poor soul bearing his genes, it wasn’t enough with me and Jack” he breathed out, tiredly before thanking his friend for the drink, downing half of the content on the glass, ready to let forget about the entire day altogether, looking at Lily while she fixed his hand. “You’re good at this, can we get you back to nursing school?” he mused jokingly, granting the other a grin.Alex smirked slightly at Lily’s words, shaking his head at the brunette’s words “Fit? Highly unlikely. She’ll be worried and give me those puppy eyes I can’t say no to, but you forget she’s seen worse. She was the one who healed my wound after the last time I got shot. If she didn’t freak out then, she won’t freak out now. I’m worried about telling her about my father and everything he said, that will be the hard part” he pointed out, gulping harshly. The agent shoot the brunette a look, raising his eyebrow lightly before placing the ice bag in his eye again. “I don’t care, I wanna hear about it. Or anything regarding your life, to be honest. You know it’s me you’re talking to, right? I know when you’re trying to change subject, which you do often” he pointed out, looking at his friend with the one healthy eye, resting his free hand on his thigh “Come on, indulge the guy with the black eye.”
Lily smiled, smoothing a hand over his hair and giving a mother-like kiss to the top of his head before moving to refill his glass and her own. “I think nursing school and I parted ways for good. “ She laughed, shaking her head as she plopped down onto the large couch and relaxed. Listening to him talk, she smiled. It was honestly the nicest thing, hearing about Claire and him. She’d seen so many love stories go wrong in her life, and if anyone really deserved a happy ending, it was Alex and Claire. “Well then she’s tougher than you and you should learn a thing or two from her. “ She teased with a a small chuckle. Her face sank slightly, wanting to avoid the topic of herself as much as possible. It was almost annoying that he never let up. “There’s noting to tell, I’ve just been working.” She shrugged, hoping he’d give up though she knew he would only get more curious. What was she supposed to say? That she was screwing around for money? Go into detail about her nights spent on her back? Just thinking about it made her feel sick. “How about some food? Remy left me a bunch of goodies in the fridge.”

The mob boss let out a scoff as he listened to Lily speak. “Prime condition?” He repeated her choice of words with a certain amount of sarcasm in his own voice as well. “Do you think I’m here to buy you like some kind of item? I’m not,” He assured her, before adding as an afterthought, “And no amount of bruises or marks will ever make me think you’re less than premium, by the way.” Lily didn’t seem all that intimidated, but still completely aware of Tino and the kind of person he was. She didn’t suck up to him, either, like many girls wanting to move up in social status or gain the type of protection and respect that came with having him as arm candy did, and maybe that’s why he liked her so much. Seeing her now, riddled with physical remnants of abuse, he felt his blood boil with anger. She didn’t need to say it, and maybe if she hadn’t he would’ve left it alone, but giving him her blessing to kill the man who assaulted her was the one thing that kept his rage in check. He could practically see the hatred in her expression as she leaned closer to him, demanded that her assailant suffer. As an instinct, the male also leaned closer to her, his own brown hues locked on to her fiery ones. “I wouldn’t dream of anything less. Before he’s done away with, he’ll regret what he did to you, even if I have to see to that personally.”
”Why else would you be here? You know what I do for a living.” There was no point in holding back her cynicism; Tino knew she was as escort by now and she never expected men to hold her in high regard after knowing they could pay for her and not have to charm her out of her pants. Just the thought made her eyes water, reliving the pain of her beating until she look another gulp of the scotch and let the burn take over her mind. Maybe she wasn’t in her right mind, maybe the booze was to blame, but either way she was sure that she wasn’t the first to suffer at the hands of this man, who seemed to know what he was doing, and should he be left without having been taught a lesson, she knew she wouldn't’ be the last. Blue eyes locked onto Tino as she slid the bottle down the coffee table towards him, her face stern as she sat up straight. “ And what do you want in return for your services? And don’t tell me ‘nothing’ because we both know better than that.” Money she had to give, but she was sure Tino made enough of his own and wouldn’t take from her. Still, there was something he wanted, she just knew it.

It wasn’t a secret that both of his boys loved their aunts badly and for them, he had to push his differences aside with one of his sisters. Lily wasn’t the one, though, Lily had been there through thick and thin, seemingly the person who would least like children in the world world, but when it came to Thomas and James, she left Robert with a warm heart. Which made him especially glad that she was there — because Alyssa was back in the city and wanting to see their children and he knew virtually nothing about what he should do in a situation such as the one he was being inserted in. A small chuckle escaped his lips at her words and he shook his head. “There is wine in the fridge, but you should feel glad that I’m opening the door to you, at all. I mean, you do have the key to my house.” He slid over to the side so he could give her enough room to go through the door, even though both kids had yet to let go from her. “Come on boys, go get the snacks and put them on the table okay? Pick out the first movie for the evening and we will just have to wait auntie Remy now.” He asked nicely as both of them nodded and Thomas took James by the hand. “Remy should arrive soon, I mean, she did say she would come and I kind of have something big to tell you guys. I’m in need of some good advice. You know how I have the tendency to easily fuck up my life.”
remy lived for days that consisted of her spending time with her nephews, sure it was nice to see her siblings but her nephews would always steal the cake with her. the invite itself she found redundant, mainly because she partially lived at roberts house due to her nephews. she had easily become their personal chef who saved them from their fathers cooking on the regular. since aly had left she had witnessed her brother struggle with alot, but in the thick of it he was never alone. she made a point to remind him of that regularly. when things had gotten rough with marc robert was always right there with a beer and a shoulder to cry on, all of her siblings were. they were the potty mouth posey who always came in full effect. she loved her siblings and would go to heaven and hell for them. upon making her way to robert doorstep, she caught the pizza guy and stopped to pay for it. she figured it was the least she could do, that and she liked making an entrance. letting herself into his home she holds the pizza high upon announcing herself the most appropriate way she knew how. “ARE YOU READY TO RUMBLE!”
Lily offered her brother a small smile before making her way inside with the younger of her nephews in her arms. She took a break from smothering him with kisses to turn to her brother and scoff. “That’s only for dire emergencies! Excuuuuse me for trying to respect your household.” She teased. Lily often happily played the role of babysitter, for out of the lot of them, she had the most free time and lived to play the mother role to the boys. Her place was hardly suitable for care taking, so she enjoyed the time that she got to spend at Robert’s house, but she wasn’t going to barge in when he was there just like that. Setting down her squirming nephew, who had been in her grasp long enough, she turned to face Robert as he spoke, a brow cocked with worry and curiosity. “New? What New--” Before she could finish, she jumped, a loud voice she knew all to well bringing a smile to her face even though she rolled her eyes. “God, Remy! Do you really have to be so loud? If you weren’t holding that pizza I would have drop kicked you right back outside the door.”

Her older sister’s words stung as they filled the air between them, leaving a sickening feeling of guilt clinging to Honey herself. “It wasn’t like that,” The roller derby player argued, but she wasn’t exactly sure how exactly she could convince her sister that she hadn’t wanted to leave them without telling her the truth. “I didn’t want to get away from you, or Remy, or Robbie for that matter. I love my family, but life isn’t just black and white, Lily. There’s a gray area and I was living in it.” Honey bit down on her lower lip as Lily demanded an explanation. In all honesty, she deserved one. Her whole family did. But the fear of being the family disappointment held Honey back from telling her sister the truth right then and there. “None of those things,” She admitted with a sigh, looking down at her feet. “What if I can’t tell you why I did it?” She asked suddenly, gaze rising back to her sibling. “What if I’m too afraid of what you and the others will think of me if you learned the truth?”
Lily couldn’t help but scoff, though not at her sister. in her current situation, no one had to tell Lily that the world wasn’t black and white -- Lily spent almost a decade living in that gray area. Still, as much as she understood keeping a secret to avoid hurting the ones you loved, Lily could never up and leave her family just like that. “You want to talk about gray areas? You have no idea... “ Lily trailed off, collecting herself and reeling in her emotions before she spoke again. “No matter that, your family is your family. We cared for you and loved you; we were never bad to you and you still ran away instead of coming to us. Do you have any idea how many hearts you broke when they needed you most? We all have gray areas, Honey, but none of us ran away.” Lily’s words weren’t just for Honey. Even though she wanted to forgive and forget, over the years life had hardened the older woman to the point where the only thing protecting the shell of who she once was was the walls she built. “If you only knew...” Lily mumbled. “None of us were perfect, but we never judge. We were supposed to stand together, you and me, Remy and Rob... You were trying not to let us down but you didn’t trust us to help you. Why?”

Alyssa swept her clothing, tugging on her shirt to keep the hot liquid from burning her skin until she heard the voice, but more the tone, she could recognize anywhere. She knew better than anyone what kind of temper Robert’s sister had and how they would bite off anyone’s head who came to them the wrong way, though never had she expected for that anger to be directed to her. With a deep breath, the brunette refocused her attention on the girl and decided that her shirt could be dealt with later on.
Her head nodded as she let the brunette speak. She wouldn’t say anything unless she was sure the other got most of everything out since she knew it would probably be hard to even say anything. She’d have to choose her words carefully, especially when it came to Lily of all people. “I’m back.” The brunette said with a fold of her arms, knowing that while she wanted his sisters to forgive her, the main priority now was her boys.
“I don’t expect you to like it, but I’ve talked to Robert.” A flinch came over her face as she remember how disastrous that had been. He’d told her that she was not to see her children, but maybe if she could get one of his siblings to see it her way, that could change. “It’s between him and I, but more important, all that matters right now is that I’m back for my boys. I’m willing to explain to you why I left but I know you’ve all already come up with your own ideas and assumptions that have probably made me out to be the worst wife and mother ever. So, what will it be, Lily? You gonna do the screaming or the listening for once?”
“Your boys?” Lily scoffed. “I’ve been more of a mother to them than you. You really think my brother is going to let you anywhere near them? You’re practically a stranger to them. And why would he, so you can break their heart again?” Lily spoke with blind fury in her voice, even though she wasn’t shouting. She had mastered expressing her anger without causing a scene by now, and it was coming in handy now on the street with her ex sister-in-law. She loved Aly once; he made her brother happy and she gave her parents the grandchildren they worried they’d die without seeing. But now all she felt was resentment and anger.
“You know? You don’t know shit about me -- at all. And you’re dumber than I thought if you really believe that. You’re right that I pretty much assume any woman who could leave her children and run off is the worst mother ever, but let’s not fool ourselves here. “ Lily scoffed in disgust again -- Aly really knew nothing at all about Lily. She accepted her in laws as family without really getting close to them. Letting people in just like that was just not something she did easily. Crossing her arms, she gave a dry chuckle as she looked down her nose at the other woman. “ For once? Bitch I was the one listening to my brother cry when you left. I was the one listening to my nephew’s ask where you were. I was the one listening to the excuses Robbie made. Don’t act like you have a clue what’s been going on around here. So no, I’m not going to do the listening -- I’m going to do the punching.”
Lily took a large step towards Aly, her height used to intimidate as she gave the woman a stare so cold it changed the temperature around them. “I can’t control what my brother does; he thinks with his heart too much and he might fall for sweet words or tears from the woman he loved, but I wont. You better be ready for a fucking war if you expect me to let up and let you around those children. And if you really loved them, you’d let them and their father be and go back to whatever hole you crawled out of. Apart from those boys , that’s be the best thing you could ever do. now.”
beccasingh:
“Noted.” Rebecca said with a nod of her head, knowing very well that Lily was joking, but she didn’t mind. Not that she was the kind to send loving messages every five seconds, but Rebecca did like to remind others how important they were in her life and Lily certainly was one of those people. “Hey it’s not my fault my time is spent among people who choose not to talk. Besides, the inside of the lab feels like home and I really love that nickname.” She let out a laughter. What she said was the truth, though, she really did like being called Morticia, being recognized by her misaligned morals when it came to source of humour or favorite way of passing the time. It wasn’t every boy and girl who found attractive to be elbow deep in blood and someone else’s guts, but to Rebecca was a matter of puzzling the pieces together and helping someone, finding something better, greater and being genuinely happy about it in the end. There was nothing more disturbing to the woman than a life without answers. Not knowing wasn’t in her best interest, she was curious. “Going out more? This is what happens when I go out— I manage to find the freakiest of the freaks. I do intend on moving from my apartment, though, don’t know why I haven’t done it yet.” She bit her lip quickly hoping the whole conversation would not settle back on the kidnapping theme. Gladly, Lily was a professional conversationalist. “Oh, don’t worry, after all the rescuing, dinner, dessert and a bottle of wine are all on me. It’s my treat.”
“Big whoop, you’re in Vegas -- it’s nothing but freaks and weirdos. You should be shocked when you find someone seemingly normal. Those are the ones trying to hide something.” Lily spoke from experiences she wasn’t going to get into, but she knew it to be true. “I stand by what I said -- put yourself out there, accept a date or even asking a guy out once in a while. It’s 2017, you can make the first move. Most men prefer it, actually.” Lily mused as she took another corner with ease. “Oh please, as if I’m going to let you pay for it tonight. You had one bad date who was probably going to ask you to go Dutch right after he asked if you’re into foot stuff, so the least I can do is treat you.” She smiled. There were a lot of fancy placed in Vegas, and Lily had been to so many of them that she enjoyed something quaint and quiet. When she pulled into the parking lot she took a minute to look up at the bright neon sign before shutting off the car and grabbing her things to step out. “They have the best burgers here and they’re cheap as fuck somehow. It’s amazing. Plus there’s just about every drink under the sun on tap so we’re probably going to have to call Remy to scrap us off the floor and take us home when we’re done.” She laughed, linking arms with Becca as she pulled her towards the door.”
viviennehart:
Vivienne made her way through Omnia Nightclub, her fingertips clutching her clutch closely; almost in a protective manner. There was only one way to make it through the night, and alcohol certainly wasn’t going to cut it. On the way to the bathroom however, consumed in a haze where she found herself determined to reach that high, she ran into someone. “Fuck,” she yelled out, realising that the majority of the contents of her purse had spilled unto the floor, bending down instantaneously to pick it all up.. her heart racing as she searched desperately for a particular powder in a small plastic bag.
Tonight's job was a simple one : be part of the entourage of some wannabe rock star trying to get his name in the tabloids. While clubs weren’t really her thing, she was being paid to look good and most importantly, like she was having fun. Hours on her feet in six inch heels were hard enough, but between the drinks and the loud music shaking the floor combined with all the flashing lights, Lily needed a break. She would excuse herself to the restroom for a little bit of quiet and a splash of cool water on her face when she needed, and this was one of those times. Heading through the crowd, however, Lily noticed someone before her making a beeline for the ladies’ room. She had a look Lily’s seen before, her hands grasping her bag for deal life as she struggled to get through the crowd. On the way, she dropped something that confirmed Lily’s suspicions. “Looking for something, sweets?” Lily asked as she entered the room to find the girl freaking, in her hands a dimebag of the girl’s drug of choice.
