I see you watching me

It makes me wonder...

If you might still think of me when you don’t want to 

or

If you might still dream of me when you don’t wish to

or

If you might still remember the time we passed together?

I see you watching me. 

Through your phone screen, like a crystal ball.

You coward. 

I know you care, 

don’t act like you don’t want to touch my skin again. 

I see you watching me. 

I don’t need any confirmation to know that you wish you had been better. 

I don’t need confirmation to understand that

you

fucked 

up.

You still got me fucked up. 

The only difference is that now, I don’t think about it as much.

I still quiver in fear at the thought of talking to you again. 

Not because I am afraid of you. 

But because I don’t want you to be afraid of me. 

I wish we could hang out. 

Perhaps that is ludicrous. 

Perhaps I loved you too fiercely.

Sitting on the edge of my bed, looking out the window sill at the rainy sidewalks of Allston. The tree across the street that’s been bare all winter has started to bud little blossoms. They are beautiful, and they give me hope and happiness.
