Amputees continue to be the funniest people on the planet why are the rest of us even trying
Just got a chatgpt ad where the use case was "can't decide a new years resolution". I can't think of anything more sad than needing a robot to tell you what your own ambitions are. Loser shit.
predictions are locked in. 2026 is going to be a good one
why go to the grocery store or to a restaurant when you can just get food delivered why go to the mall when you can get same day shipping on amazon why go to the library when you have kindle why make art when there’s ai why go to the cinema when you can stay at home and watch netflix. we are in a loneliness epidemic btw
the loneliness epidemic was invented by BIG SHIT to sell you more SHIT
I'M WATCHING TOY STORY 3 AS A YOUNG ADULT AND GOD IT HAS WRECKED ME
I was today years old when I discovered a baffling category of people and I need you all to weigh in on this; in order to type a digital capital letter do you:
hold down the shift key
tap caps lock on and off
This regards capital letters at the beginning of sentences, proper nouns and short acronyms, for example, not long lines of exclusively upper case letters.
Reblog for bigger sample size &c.
Always remember...
sheepish is a really funny word. fuck im so nervous (turns into this)
setting up a tiny detail in one chapter to pay it off in the next few chapters feels sooo devious like oooh i can't wait to write the small little reference here that 70% of readers will miss but 30% of readers will cheer for
it feels so good loading the gun when you're Chekhov
You were bigger than the whole show. ❤️
okay lets actually get into it. i am once again obsessed and devasted by squid season three's futility of hope. how pointless it becomes to hope for things, to wish for the games to stop, to want to go home. the futility of hope sits at the cornerstone of this season because, by the end of the season, that pointlessness has finally found its purpose. its found it's meaning.
constrast hyunju's death with the birth of the baby and this all makes sense. we're told in season two that all hyunju wanted was to finish her surgeries and move to thailand. she wanted to live a fulfilling life fully as herself in a place where she feels that she can do that. same with the mother and son. they wanted to go back to their house and have dinner with everyone, clear the son's debt then just live simply, maybe open a shop if im not mistaken.
but then season three happens and all of that hope becomes pointless. hyunju literally finds the exit in the hide and seek game, she steps on the threshold, she's almost right there, but then she remembers. she remembers the others and that baby. so of course she goes back for them because there's no man left behind, and in doing that she's killed. she was right there, she was almost out, she had her dreams within reach, her hope hit the ceiling then it was gone. pointless. except not really because there is a baby. and i know that people have mixed feelings about the baby but you guys literally need to understand what symbols are for. the baby is new hope and purity. something that, at the time is untainted by the games, by the greed of the people in power. whereas every other player has been. they've fought and killed for this money. they've done everything they could for the money. they're soaked through with the blood of greed, with lives of everyone who died before them.
so it makes perfect sense that people would die for the sake of the baby. for the sake of new hope. the old lady mother literally kills her son for the baby. it doesn't matter if she just met this baby and the mom only days ago, it's still a baby. the baby hasn't done anything to anyone. the baby is an ushering of hope. the baby kills the futility of fighting against the system.
gihun's silence in the first couple of eps spoke volumes on how pointless the fight against the system had become. he'd forfeit his votes and nothing would change. they were still stuck there, they were still trapped. and so to see all of that change with the baby is brilliant, im sorry. to see gihun find new hope and purpose in a character who is literally the symbol of new hope and purpose is the most direct metaphor in current media. to see gihun die for the baby is exactly what i would expect him to do.
hope in squid game is futile and pointless until it is not. which is to say fighting against a system might be futile and pointless but our ancestors did it for us. and so would we not do it for the next generation? is that not then our purpose?

figured it would be easier to say what i DID like about season 3, since the list of things I hated is so long. feel free to add your own moments in the comments or reblogs
No matter how badly anyone reviews or regards this season, no matter how depressing or disappointing it was to our favorite characters, that fucking scene with Gihun and Inho that shows Inho's flashbacks as well is one of my most favorite and amazingly executed scenes I have seen in television in a long time.
Inho bringing Gaeyong Gihun's player jacket in Squid Game merch box is a fucked up thing to do.
"Your dad died. Would be a shame if you started looking into it and it led you down the same road your dad took. Maybe you'll succeed in what he started. Most likely not though. See you in a few years when you die trying to seek closure and answers."
