Witch.

I am currently 16 years into my study of the occult. I’ve made this blog not to teach, but to learn and blog my experiences. If others wish to read my content and practice my practices then I hope that it helps them in their path or search of a path. I have studied Wicca, Santaria, a little bit about Luciferianism, a long with smaller bits of other traditions. Sometimes I feel as if I do not quite fit into any particular niche, so I have given myself the name Ecclectic Witch, or just Witch. I guess you could say that my goal is to show my practice in hopes others cab relate to me. I believe magick shows itself to others in many forms, and traditions. To give you an idea of my base beliefs, I believe in both the Horned God, who has many names, and I also honor the female goddess. But unlike wiccan I do not choose specific patrons but rather I honor them all, and we work together, though I do not “worship” them. I worship only the Horned One and the Great Goddess. I also do not directly subscribe to the belief in the three fold law. This all being said I am not here to argue or be insulted by elitists. I believe we can all learn from one another. I believe in rejecting things you do not vibe with and honoring the things you do, but I do not wish to argue semantics.

Anitism: Survey of Religious Beliefs Native to the Philippines (Pre-Colonial)

Anito throughout the Philippines has a general meaning of “spirit”- the souls or spirits of ancestors.

Characteristics of Anitism

The Spirits of Nature and Spirits of Ancestors are the anitos. The ancestors who had passed on went to the spirit world and shared an existence w/ spirits who had never been mortal.

These spirits of the ancestors then had some kind of influence upon the other spirits who could help or harm those still living. In order to keep on good terms with the spirits that had been ancestors, it was believed necessary from time to time to hold great feasts in their honor, so that they would intercede on behalf of the living to the spirits of nature.

The spirits of the dead were likewise involved occasionally in causing the death of the living through sickness so that the afflicted would join his ancestor in the spirit world.

Animals and all visible objects also possessed spirits. Often images were made by one particularly skilled in carving or sculpting, and through them were worshipped the spirits of those who had died.

This card and position represents the need refocus on my need to give myself the space to work on my spiritual growth. Day to day my life seems so busy and I tend to forget and postpone my own spiritual needs. Let this be a reminder that we all need to take the time to meditate and focus on what we need. What do you need today? Maybe that extra few minutes to breath, or take a relaxing bath with petals and candles. Connect with your inner peace.

This card reversed represents lack of control, instability with spending, and suspicion surrounding greed. Maybe you feel out of control and you fear someone will take advantage of you. That all your spending comes from a need to have things to make you feel safe and loved.

This card fit perfect for me. Since I have bipolar disorder I tend to overspend and spiral out of control. I become suspicious of others and often covet all things I own or have. I think now would be the time for me to consider better spending skills, and maybe learning to love others better. But still stay stable, and set my boundaries.

Today’s card is the Queen of Swords ⚔️ She is a powerful figure who bases all her judgement on logic. She is bold, holding her dominant hand (right)(hand of power) with a weapon, ready to take on a challenge, while also offering her left (receiving hand) almost invitingly to the challenges set before her. Her face is stern but she is not angry or afraid.
