MITCHELL: I made it delivering newspapers.
MITCHELL: Vanity means suffering a little but I only truly need them when I'm working. Staring at a screen for long periods of time is not good for the eyes. So whenever I feel a headache coming on I do put them on.
MITCHELL: As random as it might be, it is true... if you put your mind to it there isn't anything you can't achieve. What was the novel about and do you ever plan on taking it off the shelves and have it published?
MITCHELL: Congratulations on winning that lawsuit. What kind of job do you do that has gotten you into trouble?
VALENTINA: Paperboy, huh? That's interesting. I appreciate that career!
VALENTINA: At least you don't need them all the time then. You seem to have it under control, mister. Which is the main thing. And I'm sure the specs don't exactly damage your appeal, physically - geek chic is kind hot lately.
VALENTINA: Exactly. The mind is a very wonderful thing, and a little ambition and determination can go a very long way. It was a political thriller. Never say never, in terms of publishing it, but it's not something I've ever seriously considered, lately at least.
VALENTINA: Thank you! I'm a journalist. I intrude into people's lives, primarily politicians and public figures, and dig the dirt. I love it!

SEBASTIAN: I think open is a better word for it. It's closer to a relationship than anything else I've been in.
VALENTINA: Oh really? Okay, that's interesting. Then again, I'm not massively surprised, cause you don't seem the relationship type. In the conventional sense, I mean.

VALENTINA: I love how kind of pedantic you can be! Out of intrigue, do you sometimes rub people up the wrong way? Obviously, not the /right/ kind of people, like me, but perhaps those more innocent types?

BLAINE: Without the constant flying off (literally) to save the day? One can home that means less drama, ha.
BLAINE: People watching and ice cream are two of my very favorite things. (And coffee - it's a weakness). You're on - when are you free in the next week or so?
VALENTINA: I was thinking more the villains and fights, but yeah the flying off would be a pain too. Plus, I'd like a man who knows who he is, not one with two sides to him.

SPENCER: I think it is. I watched a movie like that a while ago. 10 Year Plan or something. It's like all the other ones, but gay.

SPENCER: The guy is the biggest damn nerd talking about Stranger Things and It like it's the most revolutionary thing to hit the earth. I don't know why it's so adorable.

VALENTINA: We can relate on that then 😉
VALENTINA: Well I'm glad you found yourself an adorable guy to awe over. Did you say you've met him? Or not yet? And yeah, hopefully mine comes too. There's a few guys I've met on here anyway, so who knows.

RACHEL: If beach access wasn't a short bike ride or drive away, I'm sure my hobbies would have found some other outlet.
RACHEL: Yes, we've always been close. It's just the three of us - my mom, my brother, and me, and growing up it was always made very clear that family came first. And luckily my brother is one of my best friends and biggest supporters. And vice versa, too, of course.
RACHEL: Oooh. Do you work for any area publications? Or do you do freelance/independent reporting?
RACHEL: I own a little shop that specializes in highlighting and celebrating various items all sourced from the Bay Area.
VALENTINA: That's very true. We're lucky to live in an area so close to such beautiful water sources / nature in general.
VALENTINA: Sounds like you're all very lucky to have one another.
VALENTINA: Yeah I work for a local publication. It's pretty cool, a little restrictive cause it can kind of lend itself solely to San Fran news, but it's a great job.
VALENTINA: That sounds fantastic, Rachel. So great to hear of people supporting locally sources products etc. I may have to come check you out.

VALENTINA: Hey. Sorry for not texting sooner, work has been crazy.
VALENTINA: Thank you by the way, for such a lovely birthday night. I think I perhaps said a little too much, due to the alcohol, which I partly blame you for lol, but yeah I'm sorry about that, if I made you uncomfortable or anything.

SEBASTIAN: I'm sure it's normally as sketchy as it seems. I just got lucky. ;) I can get out of it whenever I want, but I have a hot guy who enjoys my company, among other things, so why would I stop?
SEBASTIAN: Not at all. We met up for dinner and he brought it up. It didn't really hit me until one night he gave me a $5,000 watch.
VALENTINA: Nah, I don't believe in luck. You obviously did something right! I don't see why you would stop, no. Sounds beneficial enough to me.
VALENTINA: He gave you a $5,000 watch? Wow. There are perks. I feel conflicted cause I don't like hand-outs, I'd rather earn something, but I suppose you kinda are earning it, just in a non-conventional sense, right?

Carissa: Have you ever taken exotic dance lessons before? I found a place I want to try out but I don't want to go alone.

BLAINE: Very sad people, that's who. One of my other matches made me think of the ice cream & chocolate shop in Ghirardelli Square, I've been craving a sundae ever since.
VALENTINA: Yes indeed, and less drama with him probably than the real one. Oh I will.

MITCHELL: Good question... The first dollar I ever made hangs on the wall of my office.
MITCHELL: I have glasses I hardly wear because wearing them make me feel old.
MITCHELL: Your turn.
VALENTINA: Now that's an interesting fact. How did you make that dollar then?
VALENTINA: Wearing glasses shouldn't make you feel old. I'm sure you rock them in your own way. I assume you don't need them so much then otherwise you'd wear them? Or does vanity mean suffering a little?
VALENTINA: I'm so not used to be on the receiving ends of questions, it feels so weird. But okay ...
VALENTINA: So, by the age of 17 I'd written a novel all by myself. I've never done anything with it, but it was one of those moments where I realised that if I put my mind to something, I could achieve whatever I want. That's such a random fact about me.
VALENTINA: Uh and then another random or interesting fact would be that I've been threatened by a number of politicians, and one dispute even involved a lawsuit. Which I won. So yeah, I have somewhat of a reputation with politicians, but I'm good at my job, and that's the reason why.
