i wanna enjoy it but i lowkey don’t understand it im just giggling and thinking about how fine skulduggery is for a bag of bones

so i don’t actually know how to explain this but im gonna try…

up until the point that we met Cadavar Cain in the books, i always pictured Skulduggery as the type of man who scares you when you first meet him. His entire personality at first is intimidating and he shows off using wit and banter that makes you feel slightly off put.

But then Cadavar comes along and from what i see Skulduggery becomes sort of a puppy. Compared to Cadavar he’s all ‘cute’ and ‘soft’ and ‘awwww he has kittens’ and Cadavar becomes slightly more like how skulduggery was described before he had met Valkyrie because he’s ‘fuelled by anger’

I know this is kind of the point of their dynamic but i miss skulduggery being the type of man people would let step on them…you know…..

is it just me who always pictures skulduggery having like a really round ass……………… like his clothes fill out to make him look like a person…..so he gotta….. have a little cake…….. back there …. hopefully.

guys genuinely i love skulduggery pleasant so much but what is even happening in the series anymore.

it feels like so much is happening so often and the characters have been through so much (which i know is kind of the point for the development i understand that) but it still seems like everything is either being dragged out or it’s like derek landy has SO many cool ideas and wants all of this stuff to happen (which i also understand) but can’t seem to sort it out and make everything work properly… if you get me.

and please don’t get me wrong i do love these books and no hate at all to any of them but it just feels so crazy, i think it would be better to make the stories less all over the place and each book just follows a couple of main sets of characters instead of adding new ones every single book.

even if it means Landy chooses to leave behind val and skul (no 🥲) and move on to more characters in the series and focus on their story that’s set in the same fictional world and those new characters know OF the two diva detectives but just don’t … involve themselves with them….

or even just finish up the huge series and do a couple side stories abt the same characters and just short little snippets of their life and what they’re up to… yk….
