First Father's Day without my Dad (his choice)

I know I don't deserve to be abandoned because I have more love to give (or am capable of loving more than one gender). So I gues this is goodbye papa Thank you for the fond memories, I will always miss you. But I won't let you or Mom hurt me any further. Hateful people are not welcome in my world, regardless of who you are. For too long I tried to hide my true self (from my parents and from myself). I edited myself to get my dad's approval and to feel like I belonged in our family. He preached (literally preached standing at a pulpit in church) forgiveness and acceptance all my of life. We took in homeless and drug addicts and foreigners to our home and shared the message of God loves all his children. But when it comes to your own daughter loving more genders that's a reason to walk away??? No. If there's something that you taught me daddy is to love everyone no matter the colour of their skin, their religion or their walk of life. Watching you taught me stand up for those who cannot, to provide refuge for the weary and to open my heart and love with no conditions. I wish you could practice what you preach but you are only a man, and fallible. Another thing I learned in life is the courage to walk away when something is toxic to my soul. So from this day forward I will celebrate Father's day by thanking the men in my life who have stood by me, guided me and supported me. You are my new role models and I'm blessed to have you.
