I was walking through the sanctuary not too long ago, something I did all the time. I was heading from my office to the kitchen and through the sanctuary is the shortcut.
As usual, I didn’t turn the lights on, figuring the light behind me would be enough to get to the other side. It was a dark walk and several times, I had to stop to make sure there was nothing unusual sitting on the floor.
On my way back to the office, I noticed something that spoke volumes to me. As I walked back to the open office door, I could see everything, the whole room was illuminated, but the lights were still turned off.
Here is what I learned that day, the further you walk away from the light, the darker your path becomes. The more you walk toward the light, the brighter things become.
John 8:12 (NIV) When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world.Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
