Dave and Dirk are half brothers. Dave's dad is abusive and Dirk's is not even there. Roxane tries her hardest to raise them right, but she's in love with Bro and can't have him, plus her drinking problems mean that Dave and Dirk have only each other. Cue kissing for confort and raising each other. Dave teaches Dirk the fighting moves Bro taught him even though Dirk thinks Bro is abusive ("what are you talking about, he's the shit"). Dirk is interested in computers and, even though Dave is not interested in building them (and maybe fixing motor bykes), he allows some programming lessons.
Wincest AU where they're not related. Dean is an angel and Sam is a demon and they've been fighting for eons and neither can ever beat the other. So they decide to "become" humans; that way they have to use just their strength and cunning and physical skills.
But it doesn't go like they were expecting it to.
They become human, yes, but they're are born to a real human family with none of their memories. So they grow up as brothers, and they grow close.
They get their memories back by the time they're adults and completely in love with each other.
So this basically starts with Ghost. He's cold and distant when Price finds him and adds him to the 141. He's good, really good, but he prefers solo missions. Sometimes goes seeral days without expected communication but he always reappears.
Enter the new guy, Roach. He's inexperienced but doesn't look it. Very accurate with most guns, fast on the obstacle course, etc. Cheerful and witty but thoughtful too.
Against all odds, Ghost n Roach grow close. And Ghost starts to open up. To offer more of himself not just to Roach but to everyone who might be looking. The change is very subtle for those who don't know him. Price might be the only one to notice. And he's happy, he thinks having a friend will be good for Ghost.
Then the unthinkable happens.
It is during a mission that Roach suddenly stops responding. They think something might have happened to his comms device because they don't want to think about the alternative. He's the best of them, so it wouldn't even make sense.
(They don't want it to make sense)
Ghost keeps his cool until too much time passes. Too much silence. He becomes very scary. Thanks to him, they go from being cornered to having no one to aim their guns to. He kills everyone in his path, and them some.
He reaches Roach's last known location and finds it completely empty. Not a trace, no blood splats on the floor, no guns and equipment thown around, no nothing. He searches and searches and Price everyone to do the same, but they find nothing.
They have to leave the place because more enemies are coming, but Ghost goes dark so not even Price can reach him. He appears on base only days later, looking worse for wear. Not a lot of people notice, but Price does. He wants to confort Ghost but the later doesn't make it easy to find him.
It's only months later that he starts becoming what he was before. He eats his meals, trains, does everything to protocol. Goes on missions. Even talks to his subordinates. But Price can hear it in his voice, he's even worse than when he joined.
Cue a few years later. Price sees promise in a young sergeant. He asks him to join the 141, and Soap agrees enthusiastically.
He's rough around the edges, and a little disrespectful to his superiors, but he's good.
He wouldn't have paired him with Ghost but it happens, against his best wishes. They seem to be okay though. Maybe a little break after this will help them go back to normal. But they can't. They don't catch Hassan when they should have, so they can't rest.
They keep and keep on going. Just a little more and then they will be done. But the worst thing he can think of happens. They are betrayed by both Graves and Shepherd. And Price only learns of it later.
When he rejoins Ghost and Soap, he's surprised to see how close they've grown. He's even more surprised when Ghost proposes his idea of a Ghost Team. He doesn't understand, but he won't question it.
"Good to see you again, Simon."
And there's fire in his eyes, a passion that Price doesn't remember when was the last time he saw. He's truly happy his lieutenant, his friend, is back.
Later, they all have to tend to their wounds, but it's done. Hassan is KIA.
And Price can only look in amazement as this unlikely friendship develops between the local cryptid and the loudest, most talkative man he's ever met. He even hears them cracking jokes over the comms. Unbelievable. He lets them have their fun for a little longer than he would allow for any other soldier.
They are not just any soldiers. And they work good together. They know each other, how they work, so it's easy for them to fall in sync, more so than any other person.
It is only a few months later that Price receives a call. He doesn't think too much of it (panicking before you even know if it's good or bad news is no good) but his face slowly changes as he keeps listening.
By the end of it, he's speedwalking (NOT running) to the base's entrance. He's just in time to see a young man exitting a vehicle and thanking the driver. And looking at him. And smiling warmly.
After all these years of not knowing what even happened to him. And he's completely unchanged.
(So explanation in case it wasn't clear: Roach jumped from the past to the present, skipping all those years, so he didn't live them. He's the same age, same health, same scrapes and scratches he earned during the mission, and didn't feel all that time passing at all.)
So, now there's 3 fronts to think about: GhostRoach, GhostSoap, and RoachSoap.
It is only now, when Ghost is starting to accept that he has (romantic) feelings for Soap, that he realizes he probably had (romantic) feelings for Roach, too. And it's very easy to confirm after spending only a few days with the bug. The bug who's very surprised and doesn't know how to act when Ghost hugs him and holds him so close and so long. Hands staying on his back and hard mask (which is new) formly in the crook of his neck. This is new, very new, and Roach doesn't know how to act at first, but slowly learns to let Ghost have these moments. No time passed for Roach, but Ghost thought he was dead (or worse) for so many years, so he might not understand but he relaxes in Ghost arms, and even starts to give him hugs back, and touch him, grabbing his arms to catch his attention and such. The way Ghost relaxes in his presence is another thing he will have to get used to. And his openness. And the way he laughs, actually laughs at his jokes.
Roach and Soap, on the other hand, take no time to grow on each other. They approach each other as "Ghost's best friend" first, but they quickly develop a friendship of their own. They just like each other. Laugh at the other's jokes, challenge each other to get better, admire each other on their specific skills. When one starts a prank, the other is quick to run along with it. It's good, and it's fun, and even when their bodies are sore or even injured from a hard mission, they lean on each other and just chat to pass the time. They even get protective over each other. Maybe even possessive. Soap is a little confused when he thinks about it, doesn't wanna look into it too much, because what he sees might scare him a little. Roach is not confused, just thinks he likes Soap so much because he was Ghost's friend when he needed it so much. (He's wrong)
Now Ghost and Soap...
Ghost grows distant from Soap. And it's 100% because he knows he's in love with him, and also with Roach, and doesn't know what to do about either of those situations. In his effort to avoid hurting Soap, he's hurting him more than ever. But he doesn't even notice, doesn't ever look long enough to realize, starts ignoring Soap every chance he gets.
Roach might become a little combative about it, when he notices. Asks Ghost why he's avoiding Soap. That's his friend, is he not? Nothing between them has to change because Roach is back. Ghost refuses to confess to the feelings that are tearing him up inside, and this creates another divide.
So Roach spends more time with Soap, loves him more aggressively, which makes Soap more confused, or maybe it makes his (unspeekable, secret even to himself) feelings harder to ignore. So Soap distances himself from Roach also.
They are basically all sitting in the same room, Roach with crossed arms and glaring at them both at the same time, while Ghost and Soap ignore everything around them.
So the 3 of them are in love with each other, but don't know or don't act on it.
I just imagined a whole plot while listening to Eyes On Me.
Warning for mentions of injuries, trauma, nightmares.
Basically Soap tries to get close to Ghost from the moment they meet but Ghost doesn't let him. Soap is sad about it but doesn't push it. Then they are on a mission, at opposites points in a building or something, and Ghost is badly injured and tells Soap to go on without him and Soap is like fuck that. Soap runs like the devil's on his tail to where Ghost is and drags him to safety. Then helps Ghost sit against some rubble and slowly pulls his torn mask. Ghost is too tired and too injured to do anything against it but he has to clench his eyes and breathe slowly, lest the nightmares take control of his mind and body. He can't even look at his own face, and having someone else look at it is even worse. After only a moment of patching him as best as he can, Soap takes a clean, plain black balaclava out of a pouch and puts him on Ghost (which Ghost is baffled about. I mean he had a mask for him, what??¿?) and pulls the man up. Ghost feels bad about leaning his heavy body on Soap but he can't even stand on his own. And Soap sweats and groans but doesn't let Ghost go.
...
When Ghost is healing in the medical wing, some people go visit him. Some look reluctant, which Ghost doesn't find weird at all; he knows how abrassive he is. Some are happier to be there and Ghost can see how glad they are to have the big man with them. Soap goes every single day, and stays as long as he can. He rambles on and on, against Ghost wishes. But Ghost finds he doesn't mind all that much.
Soap just... gives, and gives and gives. And Ghost knows how he is. Always pushing everyone away. He can see it in his friends' eyes. Even though they give him genuine smiles, they all back off before Ghost can even start to feel uncomfortable.
But not Soap, no.
Soap is always there. Always with Ghost, like it or not. And Ghost can't deny his bravery. Always doing everything he can in the field, and more still.
And that time he saw Ghost's face... he held Ghost like he was precious. Ghost didn't actually remember all that much from that moment, as he was more focussed on holding his brain from spilling between them there and then. But he could remember those fingers, careful. Doesn't even remember the sting of antiseptic, but does remember the warmth of Soap's skin against his.
Ghost is surprised to find himself smiling under the mask. Thinking about Soap... Brave, strong, tough Soap. But also tender and careful with the things he cares most about...
It is when they are walking side by side down a lonely corridor that Ghost pulls his own mask up, just to his nose, only enough to...
He has to close his eyes to the sight of Soap widening his. He /can't/ see as they lips meet. He doesn't want to see the bridge as it burns all around him. But he feels Soap relax against him, warm air softly blow on his upper lip. Ghost feels hands wrap around his arms, not hard, just there. But Soap doesn't pull away, so Ghost thinks he maybe didn't fuck everything up.
A few days later, they sleep together. /Just/ sleep. Ghost doesn't know if he can let anyone touch him like that. He doesn't even want to think about it. But Soap doesn't ask, doesn't nudge, doesn't insinuate. He lies beside Ghost, and lets the bigger man arrange them in whichever way he likes most. He puts his head on Ghost's shoulder and Ghost just looks at him, wants to protect this man forever.
It’s not an easy night. Ghost wakes Soap up with a nightmare more than once. But Soap is never angry at him, just murmurs soothing words and holds him as close as he dares. Ghost pulls him closer still. He doesn't know if that's right, if Soap wants it or not.
But when he wakes up, Soap is there, smiling softly at him, warm and soft as the morning sun.
Glanni n Ithro keep meeting and every time it's just a little more friendly, and every time there's a shorter time to the point where they're just talking like old friends, and one time, one random time, Ithro says something and Glanni starts laughing uncontrollably, having trouble breathing, and Ithro is like. Amazed. Like a prophecy is unfurling right in front of his eyes. Like the world tilted only slightly and everything just Makes Sense now. The last bulb in his head lights up to iluminate the message "you're in love with him" and he gets it. And he tries not to show it but he doesn't know what to do with this information.
AU in which Robbie was a professional ice skater in his youth but had a really bad accident and had to spend a lot of time resting to recover and when he went back his body was weak to the point that he couldn't do all the stuff he used to be able to, and it frustrated him to no end. And considering he never developed ways to deal with frustration and his only coping mechanism for his depression was skating, well, he spiralled down pretty quickly.
Cue some time later, a friend of his from the skating world tells him to take a vacation, at least a few days. Treat himself to the beach and the sun and the water and to eat in a nice restaurant and buy souvenirs. Robbie reluctantly goes but doesn't enjoy his time a lot. Makes himself go to the beach but doesn't enjoy it that much.
One day he randomly goes to watch the sunrise. It's nice, he guesses. The red dot in the sky reflected in the waves looks good enough to take a pic... Wait a minute, is that... someone surfing? It is! At this time of the day? Robbie can just not understand some people. Though there's a lot of people in the water later in the day so maybe this stranger had the right idea. Being up early to not be bothered. Huh.
Robbie stays there, watching the sun slowly rise up, the wind hitting him on the side (not to worry, he put some warm clothes over his pajamas), the guy surfing from side to side. Sometimes he gets so far Robbie can't see him, but he always comes back.
At somo point Robbie is lost in his thoughts (but mostly letting the wind and the sunlight hit his face) and doesn't notice the stranger walking up to him until he's so close R can see his wet curls and tired steps and wide smile. He's looking directly at.. Robbie?!
"Do you have a clock on you?" he asks with a subtle accent Robbie can't place.
It's only after a few seconds that Robbie's brain boots and he can check the time on his phone (he never goes anywhere without his phone, though he barely uses it)
"Thank you, have a nice day!" the stranger says with an even more radiant smile and a wave and he's gone and Robbie can only find this encounter weird.
Later in the evening, when he's traversing the town's streets with the sun on his back, he will remember the guy with curly hair and beautiful smile- wait, what? Beautiful? Well... Robbie thinks it's probably okay to find strangers pretty from time to time. Especially because they won't bump into each other again, probably... right?
Later still, after Robbie had dinner (a small pastry - the only thing he could make himself eat), and after a few hours of trying to sleep unsuccessfully, he went to the beach to clear his mind. The wind was as cold as the morning one, and the sky was full of stars, partially obscured thanks to the lights from the town. What is he doing? Why did he come here? To enjoy nature or to try to- what? Find the surfer from this morning? Althought the chance of finding him again, at the same place (and at this hour!) was slim to none?
Robbie glanced to the black sea, barely visible in the darkness. He walked to the shore to step on the foam distractedly. Spent some minutes doing that, then raised his eyes to the horizon.
... or a little lower. Was that... the silhouette of a person he was seeing? It moved slowly from left to right. As it got closer, Robbie could see their arms rising and hitting the waves to pull themself forward through the water. So it was a person after all. Who would swim at this hour?..
kovyxghost replied to your post “So, AU in which Ignis is a scientist. He’s walking through the frozen...”
YES HELLO I NEED AN UPDATE PLEASE AND THANKS, this is my jam
I don’t really have much more of this óuò Just some details:
- Prompto lost his memories so he doesn’t know but I guess he was created for similar purposes to canon.
- They don’t have the technology to make him the arm and leg he’s missing, so they give him a normal prosthetic leg while Ignis tries to reverse engineer him some limbs.
- I don’t even know what Noct does in this AU. He’s just there because I want them all to be together. His dad is someone very important though, that’s for sure.
- Noct, Ignis and Gladio were in mutual pinning for ages but didn’t confess their feelings to each other. Prompto is the one that finally pushes them to do so. Somehow.
- They all start realising Prompto isn’t just a robot, he has feelings and dreams and fears and he’s basically a human in everything but body. He was Very Important before but now they are willing to protect him with their lives.
- Not many know about him. It’s a matter of utmost secrecy and need to know basis. Here’s where you insert all your favorite characters XD
So, AU in which Ignis is a scientist. He's walking through the frozen ruins of a big city hoping to find some spare parts to tinker with. He's with Gladio (a security officer but also one of his best friends), when they find much more than they bargained for.
They find not part of a robot but a whole android. It had to be. Nobody knew such a thing could exist. They can see circuits and cables peeking from the holes where an arm and a leg should be. Of course, they bring him back to the lab as quickly as they can.
Ignis puts him on a table and connects him to as many computers as he can, beginning to gather data. Much of the internal circuits seem to be fried and/or broken, but when Noct asks "will he wake up?", Ignis knows that's what all of them want. Maybe because it's such a huge discovery. Maybe because they all feel bad for the android who looks like a young man, no much older than Noct himself.
(He does wake up, a few days later when Ignis is unconscious on a chair in front of him because he got so little sleep)
This is what I call the cutie mark soulmate Ironstrange AU.
The idea is that you get soul marks on your skin depending on your soulmate's interests. So Tony would get a brain and maybe a spinal chord and other neuroscience related things, and Stephen would have his arms completely covered in mechanical stuff and code, a missile or an explosion on his back.
But you also get marks for life changing or traumatic events, feeling searing pain on your newly forming mark. So Stephen would get a big arc reactor in black in the middle of his chest, and he would know Tony is his soulmate. Dunno how he would feel about that. Tony instead would get something on his hands (maybe branching lightning or straight lines that imitate Stephen's scars?). He would be super worried when everything else quickly fades, that's what happens when your soulmate has died. But that must not be the case, because the ones in his hands are still black and solid.
So I just had me a thought: Okay so at one point Harry is like oh also I can dance, and Eggsy thinks sure, like waltz or something. But no. Some days later they are at a party or whatever and Harry approaches Merlin and is like may I have this dance? And Merlin rolls his eyes because he knows it's probably to show off to Eggsy but he accepts. And they dance tango, and they move so swiftly and elegantly and Eggsy stops being able to can even for a good while. Harry is, of course, very smug about it.
Dan is a demon in training AU idea. Whoops this is kinda long ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So the thing is like this: Dan is training to be a full fledged demon. He's reluctant to do so but it's not like he can do anything else. He just wants to pass the exam so he can find a job in the underworld that can pay the rent, y'know?
So he's currently on earth, disguising himself as just another normal mortal, and with the help of his counsellor Brian he's doing everything that is required of him.
One of the last tasks is doing something very bad to an unsuspecting human. And Dan groans but hey you gotta do what you gotta do, right? And Brian is already like hey I found you a human that is really kind and naive so whatever you do he's never gonna suspect a thing. Dan is just like, lets get this over with.
So he meets the human- Arin. He's really nice like he predicted but he's also funny and interesting and so, so pretty. Dan likes spending time with Arin and completely forgets his task. Brian is like okay, next time. So Dan agrees, next time.
But next time comes and goes and the both of them have a really nice time. Brian looks a little impatient this time but hey it's okay, you just were having fun, I can understand that.
Spoiler: next time he doesn't do it either. He remembers his task at all times now, but the guilt is too much. He's already made good friends with Arin and he feels like he would be betraying him? So every time he has the chance to do something bad, he just... doesn't. Brian lets him because, well, he's gonna do it eventually, right?
He doesn't do it eventually.
It's been a few months into the task and everything is so tense, especially when he's around either of his friends. Dan decides he's had enough of this. Tonight he's gonna say goodbye to Arin.
So, they spend the evening at the arcade. He says he doesn't feel like playing and instead wants to watch Arin play, but while Arin is distracted by the bright colors on the screen, Dan openly stares at him. He doesn't know if they will ever meet again so he wants to remember Arin. His frustration when he dies, his happiness when he completes a stage. His eyes lighting up in the most beautiful way.
Everything comes to an abrupt end when Arin stretches his arms over his head with a groan after losing once again. "Hey I uhm, I'm tired. Mind if I head home?" he asks.
Dan hopes his disappointment is not that obvious. "Yeah, no, sure," he stutters quietly.
"Wanna uhm..." Arin pauses, not looking at him. "Wanna come with me? Se can watch a movie or something." He shrugs.
Dan's heart jumps to a sprint. He's surprised but can't say no. His mouth moves on its own. "Sure."
Arin finally looks up to smile at him and Dan can only mirror him.
They do, in fact, watch a movie. Dan is not even sure how it's called or what's it about because he's been trying to sublty watch Arin from the corner of his eyes. He's not sure Arin's that focused either, he can't stop fidgeting.
Dan doesn't even think before reaching out and grabbing one of Arin's hands. Arin jumps a little in his seat but squeezes Dan's hand, apparently happy to have something else to do with it. He doesn't stop fidgeting, his fingers moving in Dan's hand, his thumb gently rubbing over the bit of skin he can reach with it, but he slumps down a little into the couch and Dan counts it as a little victory.
When the movie finally ends, Dan can feel the tension go away a little. Arin also relaxes beside him. He stands up, says he's gonna grab something from the kitchen.
This is your chance says a little voice in the back of Dan's head. He wants to do what that voice tells him so badly but he can't, he's glued to his seat.
Arin comes back into the room only a few seconds later anyway, opening a bag of chips. But he's too serious, looking to the floor. He returns to his seat and offers the bag to Dan without a word. Dan grabs some chips and expects Arin to do the same but he doesn't, he just fidgets with the bag in his hands.
"Hey Dan huh," he starts. "I have something to tell you."
Dan's heart suddenly jumps for the fifteenth time that night.
"You can uhm, you don't have to say anything but uhm, I wanted you to know that I huh..." Arin trails off.
Dan wants to patiently wait until he says what he has to say but his heart is hammering inside his ribcage and he's doing everything he can to stay still.
Arin licks his lips. "I... like you. A lot. These few months have been so fun and I huh, I always want to be with you, I just love you so much, dude" he says and he moves his hand like he wants to reach up but thinks better of it.
He stays silent, so Dan tries something that made the situation better before: he grabs one of Arin's hand. Arin sucks in air and fidgets a little more but seems to be encouraged by this and, after a small sigh, he says, "I'm in love with you."
Dan doesn't know how to react. He forgets about everything but Arin in this quiet moment.
The silence seems to make Arin more nervous and Dan squeezes his hand to reasure him. Arin looks up at that and slowly, very slowly, Dan leans into Arin's space, giving more than enough time to run away if he wants. But he doesn't. Dan glances at Arin's lips and, when he looks up again, he sees Arin is looking at his lips too.
Time moves too slowly for him but Dan can't make his body move faster. Arin closes his eyes briefly and seems to come to a decision. He swiftly closes the space between them and kisses Dan.
They kiss slowly, tasting each other's lips. Dan cups Arin's head in his hands and Arin drops the bag of chips behind him so that he can hug Dan closer to him.
They both feel desperate at first but the slowness of their movements makes them both calm down.
When they finally part, they just look at each other. Dan can't help a smile that slowly turns to a grin that slowly turns to laugher. Arin smiles at him too, looking a little confused.
"Oh, Arin," Dan says simply, burying his face in the crook of his neck.
Arin holds him and rubs slow circles on Dan's back.
Dan is completely at peace right now, more than he's been in a long time, but he hasn't forgot what he needed to do. He can't do that though. He's only known Arin for a few months but he became so important in such a short time.
He's shaken out of his thoughts when his phone vibrates in his pocket. He forgot he had that thing with him. He extricates himself from Arin's arms with an apologetic smile. Arin just shakes his head and leaves him some space so he can check his phone.
After some seconds of struggling with the tiny machine (he was still not used to human technology), he reads the message from Brian: [We have to talk]. He probably knew what happened and, honestly, Dan didn't care what happened to him. He just didn't want Arin to suffer because of him.
"It's my roommate," he lies with a grimace. "He's worried about me, I should probably go home." He doesn't want to look at Arin.
Arin looks more than a little disappointed but he disguises it fast. "Oh, yeah, I mean yeah you should. Don't want to keep you up at night," he tries to joke with a small smile.
"Oh, don't worry, you will," Dan answers and kisses the corner of his mouth.
Arin ducks his head before Dan can see him blush.
They exchange awkward goodbyes and a lingering kiss.
"I'd love to do this again sometime," Dan admits, trying to stretch the moment as much as he can.
Arin smiles brightly at that. "I'll call you tomorrow so we can arrange something."
"I'd love that," Dan says and kisses him one last time.
They wave at each other before Arin finally closes his door.
Dan has a lot of time to think while he walks back home. He's expecting Brian to be super mad at him. But when he comes home, he's surprised to find himself enveloped in a tight hug.
"You really care about that human, don't you?" the shorter man says.
Dan feels tears prickle his eyes and the back of his throat as he hugs Brian back. " I do," he says, his voice braking only a little.
Brian says he doesn't know what they will do, but he wants to help Dan out of his situation. Dan is very surprised but Brian says he's his friend too, and doesn't want him to be so sad.
"Thank you, Bri," Dan says with a small smile.
Dan doesn't sleep peacefully that night. The next day they start brainstorming.
So maybe Arin is pining after Dan but most importantly Dan is pining after Arin but he never does anything about it because 1) Arin is married, and 2) Dan is so afraid, like, with how much he's afraid of commitment, but then you have Arin, who's been his best friend for many years, who's a fucking lighthouse in the middle of a storm, who's a warm tea in a quiet afternoon, who's always got his back, whom he tells secrets to, talks about both stupid and serious things, who's been one of the most important people in Dan's life for so long and he remembers the time Before and he doesn't wanna go back so he can't be like "oh and btw I'm in love with you". What would happen then? Losing Arin would crush him so much, would make his life a fucking hell, and, for what? A simple crush? No, he has to get over it. Or live in denial.
And, what if. What if Arin is like "oh cool let's date". What if they date for some time but there's a tiny voice only Dan can hear telling him- all these things that make him doubt and start avoiding Arin. What if he's like "on second thought I like being single". That's what he would say on the outside, but on the inside he's being crushing by the weight of everything happening around him, of the face Arin makes for a moment before saying "oh no problem dude". And it only gets worse from there. Arin starts wondering what did he do to push Dan away. And Dan is too busy worrying about the things he feels and the things he said and doesn't even realise what's happening with everything else. Arin is drifting away from him (to give him some space maybe?) but it's too late, Dan can only see his life crumbling before his eyes.
So he never says anything. They record GG episodes, they go out like normal friends do, they tell jokes and talk about non funny topics too. But Dan never says what's really in his heart at all times. He doesn't tell Arin all the things he means for him. He just smiles and hugs him. Whatever this is, it's better than the alternatives.
