"We are all enemies in the eyes of the state", only some are literal leaders in academic fields of gender studies and uses their position to openly harm the women of their own community with no consequences.

"Trans women get all the visibility" but it's 16,913 newspaper articles in the UK mainly demonising trans women, while some trans men have enough institutional power to get on a stage and spout utter bullshit about trans women that is not historically or factually correct.

And of course trans men have it hard right now, any kind of trans person has it hard in the UK right now. But this is yet another example of the differences in structural power between trans men and trans women, and a good example of how a trans men can oppress trans women

I'm really sorry if this is weird, I'm a closeted (in real life anyways) enby person, and seeing your business card written with they/them on it just reminded me I could just. do that. that I don't have to hide forever and that there's a place for me. and finding out you're aroace too (like me!) made me really happy. it's really scary, but I think I'm gonna try to be myself more. if people leave me behind, maybe they weren't worth being friends with in the first place. I'm just not all that sympathetic when transmascs talk about how hard they have it receiving misplaced hatred from people who mistake them for trans women. Like, I saw a lengthy post earlier today from a guy talking about a "Trans Periods" event that was being held exclusively for transmascs (they did not include transfems in this event) that had to be delayed — not cancelled — because it received a bunch of hate from transmisogynists who assumed it was an event for trans women to talk about our periods. When they cleared it all up with the public that this was a transmasc-exclusive event the harassment died down enough for them to hold it. When that hatred is directed at us, it isn't misplaced. It's striking its intended target. We can't dispel it by telling them "No no no! We're not trans women!" Because we are trans women. So you may notice that we don't get to hold events like that because of it.

So sorry you catch some easily deflected strays every now again from the firing squad that's constantly shooting at us. Go cry me a river about it and then maybe I can sail far away from all of you.

Really wish we'd, on the left, stop laughing and assuming this is ACTUALLY about strippers. I'd be willing to bet this ISN'T about some one with the actual job of stripper being somehow hired and sent to a school, that indeed DOESN'T happen - instead it will be used to target any female teacher who, like, wears a bikini on social media one time. She'll be called a "danger" to children and fired, as a cover for the fact that she's pro-queer or too far left or doesn't support ICE enough on that same social media. Actual bill name: Stop the Sexualization of Children Act.

Purported purpose: "to protect children from being exposed to explicit material in the classroom".

How it's sold in the press: "Ban strippers and porn from classrooms!"

Actual text of the bill: Expands the meaning of "sexually explicit content" to include the words "or involves gender dysphoria or transgenderism".

Not and. Or. Meaning "involves gender dysphoria or transgenderism" is in and of itself enough to be classified as sexually explicit.

Actual result: Illegal to mention the existence of trans people or admit to being trans in a classroom under threat of being prosecuted as a child sex offender.
