“You’ve got red on you Sergeant Graham.” A junior field agent called out and extended a towel.
His eyes never left the body on the ground. The would be domestic terrorist had taken five hostages, two women and three children. Thankfully Joshua was able to de-escalate the situation. But not before he towered over his prey. Toyed with him, made him beg for his life and shot him execution style. It wouldn’t have been a big deal, he’d done this for years.
It was seeing their faces, the little ones with fear in their eyes as he basked in these violent delights. And he suddenly realized where he was and how unclean he is.
“I’m aware, thank you.” He gently grabbed the towel from his subordinate and began to wipe his face. Still unclean.
‘Sometimes I tell myself that these wild fires never stop burning’ he thinks as he glances over to a mother and child, she was visibly shaking as she catches Joshua’s glance she begins to hyperventilate. He looks away in shame as he begins to walk back to his truck.
‘But I’m the one who starts them.’

Joshua has a sadistic streak, something that comes out in the heat of the moment, as kind as he is towards everyone in his community, there’s a violence in him he struggles to deal with sometimes. Sometimes that violence can negatively affect those around him. This was a neat lil snippet to come up with it’s a continuation of the other Joshua swat thing I drew hehe.
