Saying Rex is surprised to find a letter waiting for him is an understatement. He didn't think sending letters are possible, let alone that anyone would want to send him one. But once he opens it up, he realizes why he got one.

That odd postal Smiley man, Benjamin. He must've found a way back home. Rex, not having anything better to do, figures why not indulge him? He grabs whatever paper and pen he can find and scribbles out a note.

He doesn't know how to send it so he just sort of tucks the note into the envelope and hopes Smiley finds some way to get it.
