the genre of conspiracy theory I come across that's like "~They™️~ want you to stop eating meat" is so fucking stupid every single time it's something that is a result of climate change or food companies cutting cost in production which can ALSO be a result of climate change (certain ingredients become harder to obtain and more expensive). like congratulations, you discovered food access and quality is class stratified. under capitalism it always has been! you're just feeling the effects directly for the first time, so it must be a conspiracy.

The trouble is, an "unspecified" They being the cause of something originates from nazis meaning "The Jews" and of course the number one goal of The Jews is "the replacement of the white race with impure beings, through death, weakening, and reduced birthrates" so when someone bemoans a lack of meat or increase of soy or whatever the problem-of-the-day, the pipeline from normie to nazi is a short blip.

Nazis are forever effective at recruiting because once problems start hitting the most privileged, the liberal response is either "no it's not happening" or "it's only maybe happening because Republicans" and the nazi response is "yes it is happening, it's a Jewish plot" and the most disgruntled maladjusted human beings are gonna pivot hard to whoever told them it's real. It's tragic because these bozos actually *do* hate the effects of capitalism, but the anti-communist propaganda is so strong.

Reform capitalism doesn't just not stop nazis, it helps create more of them, and if that wasn't bad enough, they are sooooo fuckin annoying on their journey there.

I absolutely blame Facebook for this shift. Words cannot describe how freaking WEIRD it was in the mid-00s when there was suddenly this popular website where you were required to use your real, brickspace name and encouraged to post photos of yourself.
