Amazing site.
I discovered 27 data centers near me I did not know about, 9 of them currently under construction.

we've got a life to love living.
advice that has literally saved and improved my life
[Image IDs: Tumblr posts. Image #1: homunculus-argument: Uncomfortable facts of life:
Nobody's going to magically swoop into rescue you. You can't just sit there and expect someone else to come save you. You have to get your shit together and do it yourself.
About 90% of the time, the "it" you have to do on your own is pushing yourself to walk up to someone else and use your words to say "hey I need help."
Image #2: tordenvejr: you can't avoid yourself into a life you love
Image #3: kosmogrl: #um guys, I think we need to stop waiting for 'the right time' and just start doing the things we want whenever because the right time's never gonna come, and if we keep waiting it's just gonna turn into an endless cycle
Image #4: proBuccalFat: #it's fucking wild because one day you're like i guess i'm not dying tragically young and you go to the store and you buy dental floss, ingredients for soup, and a bath mat
Image #5: northernstrcr: they were right btw. you have to dig yourself out of your grave over and over again
Image #6: soracities: some days you really do have to just find and wrench one tiny thing from the world w the determination of a hog digging out truffles and make it your anchor. raindrops on a window. smell of the bakery in the supermarket. single defiant tuft of grass between the cracks of the pavement. etc. hold it all w equally grubby and defiant hands.
Image #7: glowCowBoy: gonna take a hot shower and put on a big t shirt and my undies and i'm gonna sit on the floor and color at my coffee table like im 6 years old again and then i'll feel better
Image #8: superOrganism: you have to be annoying and do everything as passionately and genuinely as possible because we live in a world where everyone operates though sixteen layers of post irony and to love with recklessness is literally counterculture.
Image #9: aridante: get in loser we're living past the end of our myth /End IDs]
''what if you regret it'' then you will expirience regret - a normal and unavoidable part of the human expirience.
the more you twist yourself into a pretzel to avoid regret the harder it will hit when it eventually catches up to you.
every day i am thankful to ancient humans for the domestication of the cat. fucking genius idea. agriculture was a good one too btw but you really outdid yourselves with the cat thing
I think grim reapers should wear little hats
I don't remember where I was going with this but I stand by it. give grim reapers big ole straw farmer's hats!
"well which is it gaud, little hats or big ole straw hats" i told you i don't remember where I was going with this. give grim reapers Among Us accessory options
think it's a deep consolation to know that spiders dream, that monkeys tease predators, that dolphins have accents, that lions can be scared silly by a lone mongoose, that otters hold hands, and ants bury their dead. that there isn't their life and our life. nor your life and my life. that it's just one teetering and endless thread and all of us, all of us, are entangled w it as deep as entanglement goes. v neat i think.

In case anyone hasn't heard, the cyclospora outbreak affecting tons of people in the US right now is coming from Taylor Farms produce. Best to stay away from bagged lettuce and prepared salads completely right now, but especially the ones mentioned in the screenshot:
Taylor Farms Earthbound Farms Little Salad Bar (Aldi) Marketside (Walmart) Kroger House Brand Target private label greens Costco salads and greens etc Trader Joe's chopped salad kits and fresh produce Fast food: McDonalds, Taco Bell, (Yum! Brands), Chipotle, Subway, Pizza Hut, KFC, Olive Garden, Top Golf, Red Lobster, Burger King, etc.
This is not the first time I've heard about a Taylor Farms foodborne illness outbreak. I stopped eating their salads after reading a description of the conditions in their facilities. Doesn't sound like they've improved anything.
We need a fully funded and staffed FDA, and regulations with teeth - and that's exactly what we don't have under Trump. To make things worse, the CDC is no longer tracking these outbreaks. We're on our own.
Friend in an alleyway | my wife sent me this photo the other day and said "you HAVE to draw this." and I agreed completely <:
oops I was told you can only see the photo if you have a bsky account, so here's a screenshot of it!
The problem with studying the deep ocean is that humans need light to look at things, the depths of the ocean are extremely dark, and what lives there is accustomed to spending most of its time in that darkness. So when we go down there with submersibles and turn on Big Lights to see, we invariably and dramatically alter what's going on, in the same way that it's generally difficult to observe the natural behaviors of terrestrial animals if you whip out a megaphone and shout HEY GUYS WHAT ARE YOU DOING at them first.
A humble snubnose eelpout on its way to the whale fall buffet when some nearby humans give it a quick, unintrusive study:
I put this in the comments but feel it needs a reblog- Check out some of Dr Edith Widder’s work on light in the deep sea! Among other things, she used the bioluminescence of stoplight fish to deduce wavelengths which most deep sea animals can’t perceive and used that to create light filters to be able to film with minimal disturbance! And that’s how we got 25 minutes of giant squid footage!!!!
in grad school the only winning move is not to play
My job? I’m the bat enemy in 2D games that flies at you from a diagonal angle you can’t shoot in, it’s an under appreciated role but really serves to test the player’s understanding of the mechanics leading up to harder challenges. I also receive an intense smug satisfaction when they can’t hit me.
I love how it doesn't matter what expedition it is.
They all turn into excited kids when they meet penguins.
The Penguin: GIANTS! no way! I’m gonna wave at them THEY WAVED BACK! Holy Shit they’re dancing with me! My Wife is never gonna believe this OMG I got to dance with a Giant today so cool.
The Humans: Penguin! No way! I’m gonna wave at it IT WAVED BACK! Holy Shit it’s flapping with me! I got to play with a Penguin today; so cool.
where's the joy and whimsy guy? Have they found this one yet?
