Do you think Tumblr is an echo chamber where almost everyone is against gen AI, while out in the real world, if you ask 10 random people if they use gen AI, at least 5 or 6 of them will say yes, and there’s a good chances that your friends and/or family use it too?
Yes, I think that
No, I do not think that
*This poll was submitted to us and we simply posted it so people could vote and discuss their opinions on the matter. kneeling and pet-style dehumanisation happening to a dangerous whumpee who could super easily physically overpower whumper is soooo special to me. the implications. the level of physical and/or psychological violence and power that must have been leveraged to get this degree of submission, from them...
it's fascinatinggg like you've either won their complete loyalty or you're somehow forcing their hand. and it begs the question HOW??? What Did You Do...
I've probably posted about this before but it still gets me that Ripley (my parrot) has a special nickname for my spouse, Tev. Like he knows and uses the names of everyone in his flock (me, Tev, Steve, and Cheese. also a couple of our friends and my mom's dog) but because Tev calls him "Ripley buddy," a couple years ago Ripley started calling him "Tev buddy" instead of just Tev. He doesn't call anybody else buddy. He knows that 'buddy' is a special suffix for him and Tev to use with each other's names because they love each other. Doesn't that just melt your fucking heart
They love each other
My local animal shelter (BARCS) just got an influx of 369 birds from a shitass pet store, which is a truly terrifying number of parrots to have inside a building. BUT: there's a donation drive going on right now where you can vote for a pet's face to go on a beer can for their annual BARCStoberfest. Every single vote is a dollar towards animal rescue!!!
You can vote for your favorites such as Tylenol, El Eiwi Gordito, and Cheese here on their website!
HI LET’S SHARE NICOLE’S WORDS ON THE SUBJECT!
It has been literal years but every time I see Martin’s tweets posted somewhere and his word is shared as truth while her post is not shared it sort of reiterates the fact that we trust men to speak about feminism more than we believe women who experience it.
Interesting, innit? https://medium.com/@nickyknacks/working-while-female-59a5de3ad266
Reading her account of how their boss treated her blows me away. Men are so emboldened that they will literally admit to illegal discrimination casually and face no consequences.
In all the years of seeing this post I’ve never seen a link to her side. Didn’t even know she’d written one.
Adding screenshots of her post. His whole post is there without needing a link. Hers should be, too.
Also, she posted this is 2017! It’s fucking 2020 and I’ve seen his side of this for years, but it took 3 years for her side to make its way to my dash…
I’ve reblogged his story at least twice; it’s time for Nicole’s.
It’s 2023 and i just now learned that Nicole’s response was also out there
What helped me write trauma better is remembering that the nervous system learns predictions. If danger used to come after quiet, calm can feel threatening. If kindness used to come with a price, kindness can feel suspicious. So healing is not just “they know they’re safe now.” Healing is the slow, annoying, deeply unfair process of teaching the body that the old prediction is not always the present truth.
Having compiled your requests along with some winners of past polls, I now present to you, (suggested by @therottenkingsreckoning) the:

important that you never forgive ice agents, ever. even years after all this is over (and I do believe we will make it out on the other side, alive and for the better,) they live in shame and disgrace forever. no excuses, no forgiveness. they ruined their own lives when they decided that human freedom and liberty was an acceptable sacrifice for a paycheck
whats everyones favorite cocktails. i totally adore a sex on the beach. no rum and coke okay i want your favorite gay ass colorful fruity tasting type of drink okay? okay. i trust you. i love you
Please remember that almost everyone around you is traumatized. I didn’t understand this when I was younger. I wondered why people acted so strangely and irrationally. Maybe all children wonder this. The author Robert Anton Wilson said (paraphrasing), “We have never seen a completely sane adult human.” No one makes it out of this life alive. It’s not their fault. Mercy, kindness, forgiving — these are what makes one human. They are other names for love. People break in the strangest of ways.
“Under the present brutal and primitive conditions on this planet, every person you meet should be regarded as one of the walking wounded. we have never seen a man or woman not slightly deranged by either anxiety or grief. we have never seen a totally sane human being." — Robert Anton Wilson
Blah. Feeling randomly sad and lonely. Might just be that I'm tired and can't tell it apart from depressed.
But also I kinda hate Friday nights. My RP friends are usually out doing RL stuff so I've nothing to do and no social interaction.
We should bring back forest green.
you’re allowed to be a boy btw. You’re allowed to be a girl. You’re allowed to be both or neither or something else entirely. You’re allowed.
the horrors persist but so do books, art, hot chocolate, winter nights, the moon, the sea, the stars, sunsets, literature, libraries, cats, flowers, stories, love and the wistful feeling you get when you finally return home
spec. spec. spec youve changed the game. i never realized your pointer finger and your wrist artery are the same. holy shit. im going to draw hands thank you
aasdjsd its not really an artery but its a useful landmark to facilitate the Flow of a pose imo
Soooo tired and drained after the trip back home. Physically not as bad as I feared, considering that I'm still dealing with some lingering pneumonia symptoms and I have asthma and so on, but mentally I feel like I've gone through a meatgrinder.
Airports sure are a sensory experience.
