Mistigram: some seek out new life and new civilizations, but for Darkman Almighty, the SF-themed MIST0526 artpack collection was a chance to draw #ANSIart of a character from a fresh #StarTrek franchise, like this portrait of #ConnorTrinneer, playing #TripTucker in #Enterprise.
Mistigram: this badass extra-wide #ANSIart promo for Godfather's extra-wide The Underground BBS was drawn by @zeusii & included in the new science fiction-themed MIST0526 artpack. (The power armour worn by the bounty hunter on the right renders the scene eligible for the theme!)
Mistigram: this alien was last seen recently, leading a parade of friendly extraterrestrials. This #pixelart piece, 'How Do I Look, Earthling?' was drawn by @thegreenherring and included in the new science fiction-themed MIST0526 artpack collection.

Mistigram: we saw some overlap in subject between our most recent science ficiton-themed MIST0526 artpack and the previous one, dealing with books & authors. Here's a #teletext portrait by @atonalosprey, from MIST0426, of #ArthurCClarke, famous for writing 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Mistigram: sometimes you get far enough into your preliminary layout of an #ANSIart adaptation that you realise, gulp, this is going to be more small-scale than I thought, maybe I should cut and run... but Cthulu has a 'sunk cost fallacy' way of seeing it through to the bitter end. Anyway, this is his take on #BruceJensen's iconic cover art to the 1993 paperback edition of #NealStephenson's #cyberpunk novel #SnowCrash, in the background, #TheGrid, in the foreground, the world's tiniest #HiroProtagonist. It was drawn for the new science fiction-themed MIST0526 artpack collection(, though while apparently still in a MIST0426 frame of mind!)
Mistigram: as an American participating in a European demoparty (and with their fursona leading the parade), @thegreenherring went with a 'we come in peace' theme for this #ANSIart scroller, 'Greetings, Earthlings!', which placed 6th (top third!) in the text art compo in this year's Revision demoparty. This piece was also included in the new science fiction-themed MIST0526 artpack collection.
Mistigram: in different ancient cultures the #lotus signifies different things -- in India, perfection and enlightenment; in Greece, hedonism and addiction. You may need to decide for yourself which one @mavenmob was alluding to (if not both!) in this #ANSIart illustration of the flower melting away into the Matrix. Mistigram: Cthulu dutifully traced the monochrome poster art to Fritz Lang's 1927 German expressionist film #Metropolis as #blockASCII, then hesitated, contemplating its opening logo -- starts with an M... ends with an S... also contains a T, an I, an R... well heck, he thought, there's nearly already everything here needed to make a Mistigris logo out of, and then I could use it as an infofile header! Ultimately it did appear in exactly that way in the new science fiction-themed MIST0526 artpack collection.

Mistigram: a technocratic society in which elite underground hackers earn credits for drawing radical text art illustrations may feel distinctly retrofuturistic, but nonetheless ZII (Zeus II) has established his AAC (#ANSIArt Corporation) from which you can commission screens and scrollers at competitive rates.
